Yeah it really feels like JR doesnt give two fucks at all anymore. He's not shy of putting the boots into WWE on his podcast and he appears pretty unconcerned about pissing off the AEW brass too. He must be making some tidy bank off the podcast and is just enjoying himself.

I think that's why I quite enjoy JR's podcast now. He seems to just tell it likeĀ it is/was which is in stark contrast to the total bollocks spouted by Prichard and Bischoff.Ā I didn't think I would enjoy it muchĀ as I had him filed under 'tedious out of touch bell end weirdo' in my mind for quite some time.

The other day he had no problem saying HHH literallyĀ argued that CM Punks arse was too big and too soft to be the World Champ. Good to know for any aspiring workers out there that you better have small but veryĀ firm buttocks if you want to make it in NXT.

I feel exactly the same way. People give JR plenty of shit but it's good to see he's not pandering for anyone and just doing what he likes. The Bischoff and Prichard podcasts may as well just end now because there's so much ass kissing and hyperbole they are worthless.Ā

Ā

Ā

And yeah, HHH's comments. Amazing stuff.Ā

Several reports coming out that Sadie Gibbs 'took a swing at' Bea Priestley backstage at the show.
It did seem there was a bit of 'lack of co-operation' going on at times and there is known heat between the two after Bea & Will publicly criticised Gibbs for leaving a Japan tour due to the death of her Grandfather. It is thought all the 'information' Will was getting was being fed to him by Bea so that would make sense.
Interesting to see what, if any, action is taken over this and who's side AEW will be on.

Thatā€™s not the whole story really, Sadie Gibbs doesnā€™t really get booked anywhere at all due to her shit attitude, Ospreay didnā€™t criticise Gibbs for leaving because her Grandfather died,Ā Stardom took a chance with her and she was either constantly drunk or making a fool of herself in public places(which is a big no-no in Japan) Stardom were going to get rid until her Grandfather passed away and she just upped and left without telling anyone anything.

I noticed them out of the corner of my eye during the battle royal and thought whose idea was it to makeĀ them work together during the battle royal as I knew they hated each other.

Bea visibly sandbagged Sadie on a gorilla press in that match.Ā

None of us know the full story of what went on backstage, or anything more than the social media gossip about what went on in Japan, but it's clear that Bea wasn't cooperating when they were in that match. And if the heat stems from Bea and Ospreay calling Sadie unprofessional, then it's a bit rich to actively try and sabotage someone's TV debut.

Bea Priestley is partly why I've recently sacked Stardom off.

Completely worthless. Gave her the benefit of the doubt when she won the red belt but she's been a monumental bore since then and thinks saying fuck is edgy in 2019.

Don't particularly care about Sadie either to be honest. Both her and Bea could disappear and I wouldn't care.

I finished the show this morning. I wish they didn't feel the need to go almost four hours and have a pre-show too. These shows are getting exhausting.

Casino Battle Royal was the drizzling shits. This gimmick is not going to work as it misses the individual reactions for entrantsĀ that a standard rumble has, plus the camera work and timing is still mind-boggling awful. The battle royal at All In was their best attempt at a Rumble concept thus far.

As far as the winner, and the women's match that followed later, Riho vs Rose should be a fun match to crown the first champ, despite the main show women's match being sub-par.Ā Riho does seem to be taking the place of the recently departed Kylie Smilie, so I hope the crowd doesn't go in on her for that.

Private Party are great and that tag division as a whole is shaping up really well, especiallyĀ  with the inclusion of Ortiz & Santana. Someone else on here hinted to the ideaĀ that, with AEW's objective to have stronglyĀ defined divisions, you can have each TV episode dedicated to a single division in order to keep things fresh and I can't see that being a problem with AEW'sĀ burgeoning tag roster.

Angelico is pretty shite though. I'd move him in with Darby, Havoc, Janela and the rest of the hardcore lads that they'll bring in.

Talking of them three, I really enjoyed their plunder brawl. Janela's reaction to the tennis racket was fantastic and some of the spots were insane. The clip of the Cracker Barrel dinner at the end looked awful though. Is that what the yanks like? Dry looking chicken, broccoli and plain potatoes?

PACĀ vs Omega being on second was a nice surprise and a very nice match, probably the second best of the night. Great finish too. It's here where I cottoned onto the win-loss records being displayed in the entrance graphics. Makes me believe that we're gonna see a lot of multi-man and tag matches onĀ AEW TV, and they'll keep singles matches as a PPV attraction.

Luchasaurus is excellent. Jungle 'Jack' Boy is excellent. And I'm higher on Marko Stunt than most, having seen him explode onto the scene out of obscurityĀ last year. Keep them in the tag (or trios?) division for now though. LS is over as fuck but you need guys like that up and down the card. Immediately promotingĀ anyone with a big reaction up the card just leaves the bottom of the card feeling empty and soulless.Ā

As a ladder match connoisseur, I loved the Bucks vs Lucha Bros.Ā It's my match of the night and is also now the lead in the prestigiousĀ Ladder Match Of The YearĀ award (the NXT four way tag, Aussie Open vs SOE from PROGRESS andĀ men's MITB make up positions 2, 3 and 4). I am really happy that the feud is over though as there is only so much you can do with that rivalry.

Cody vs Spears and Jericho vs Page both disappointedĀ me. Both had some strong points and moments, but as the two big singles matches they definitelyĀ under-delivered. Jericho is someone that I'm just not on-board with and Shawn Spears lacked the intensity and character that Cody's matches and stories need to thrive. Hangman was never a believable challenger for their world championship either, and Cody scaring his dog half to death kinda had me against his match from the get-go. The Arn appearanceĀ and MJF teases were great though, and there were some genuinely good exchanges between Jericho and Page.

Well, I might as well accept defeat at this point. The Dark Order are not getting over. What works in a community center in Canada in front of a couple hundred fans who watched theseĀ twoĀ go from lovable babyfaces to an indy Ministry Of Darkness, obviously isn't going to work in an arena full of people who weren't watching CHIKARA or PWG pre-2013 (despite the fanbase's insistence of being smart and knowledgeable about the non-WWE product and all that). The Dark Order isn't a good gimmick for this audience, and it's made worse knowing that they'd be insanely over just working as theirĀ original Super Smash Bros characters.

Still, although the match played out to a quiet audience, I'm happy to see Best Friends get their shine and happier to see Orange Cassidy slotting into place nicely.

All in all, it's a weird show. Overly long, with some production elementsĀ that need refining but they're clearly listening to the audience and nothing was actively bad (with the exception of the CBR, which will stay inĀ pre-show hell). If they trim the PPV's down to a cool three hours then we're looking at a winning formula. They're not the perfect promotion by any means, but they're theĀ breath of fresh air that the mainstream wrestling landscape needs.

I get that they need to put the belt in a big star to attract an audience for the upcoming TV show and that but my god, the absolute state of Jericho.Ā

I thought he looked good at All Out to be honest. It took a while to get used to but fat ageing Axl Rose is a fine look for a heel veteran champ.

There's two things going on here - one is something that I noticed from All In; where they book indie talent that exist outside of The Elite/PWG sphere, the crowd have seemed fairly down on them, so I don't think they're as "informed" as they might like to think. There definitely doesn't seem to be much of a serious following among the AEW diehards for CHIKARA, or pre-Elite PWG, for example.

Ā The indy Ministry of Darkness gimmick just doesn't work because they can't do a clean break from Super Smash Bros. If they're not doing a video game gimmick, he shouldn't still have a name referencing his origin as Player Uno, Stu shouldn't be dressing up as Kratos, they shouldn't have henchmen named after a Minecraft baddy, and they shouldn't have a ton of their moves given cute video game reference names. It seems like they want the advantages of having new characters to play with, but don't want to risk losing any credibility they've already gained under their earlier gimmicks. And I think that's a balance AEW will continue to struggle with as they work out just how much they can afford to assume prior knowledge from their audience.

Will apparently only knew these things because Bea was the one feeding him it [according to the story].
As has been said - it was still a cunt move to blast her on social media, especially after her Grandfather had died. It had nothing to do with Will at all yet he held himself up like some 'guardian' for any foreigners coming over to Japan or something.
If SadieĀ does have a shitty attitude then that will be found out soon enough - however potentially fucking someone's career over some stupid mistakes they made during their first tour of Japan is not cool. I suppose I'm more inclined to believeĀ based on past behaviourĀ that Will and Bea are the massive douches in this scenario rather than Sadie if I'm honest but I suppose time will tell.
