Thank fuck that's out of the way. Now we can actually start to find out what will happen.

Obviously she will win the VONC tomorrow. The DUP and ERG will back her.

She won't be able to come back with any significant changes to the deal, so at that point, I see motions being brought forward to allow MPs to vote to prevent a No Deal. Which would make the default position to withdraw Article 50 presumably.

Or, there is a decision made to Extend Article 50 and kick the can down the road again. Maybe a General Election then gets called, or else a 2nd Referendum.

I really can't see a No Deal scenario now. Thank fuck

So if no deal looks unlikely to be accepted, the current deal is dead and Brussels are firmly saying there is no better deal, what's left ...

A general election that would result in either a (likely) weaker Conservative government with a new PM or a Labour government under Jeremy Corbyn, both of which would have no realistic chance of securing a better deal than the one we just saw killed off.

A second referendum is the only thing that makes sense to me. If we go through a second referendum and the result is the same as the first then it at least justifies the months and years of further attempts to work out a deal that'll get the backing of parliament. Surely enough has happened since the first referendum to now justify a second.

Thing is, if we have a second referendum and it squeaks through for remain, how do we placate the leavers? We can't do best of three. Cameron has a lot to answer for, he's made this country a hate filled tribalist shithole. For example "Remain - Good Leave - Bad", when people don't want to seem to want to see why people voted the way they did like it's being on the terraces for a derby. On Facebook, BTL on the Guardian, and even here with that dogshit " Something is Leave and Something is Remain" thread on here are indictive of the dogshit he left us in. From Home Bargains Socialists singing the praises of Remain as it's the Socialist thing to do (Which it really isn't) to arseholes wanting to leave to send them all back while moaning we'll have to pay for a Visa for a spanish holiday, to other arsehole business owners wanting to leave to get out of European Working Regulation, and other arsehole remaining business owners wanting to stay due to their anti Trade Union neoliberal arsery. People who felt left behind blackened the face of politics by voting out and now being told people want a people's vote when people voted to leave and so putting them back in their "you don't matter box", but at the same time they got lied to anyway. It's fucked. Completely fucked.

It's all fucked. All fucking fucked.

The last ever episode of The New Statesman saw this coming in 1992.

I'm pretty sure Corbs can get a better deal than May - it's her "Red lines" that she won't budge from that the EU also won't budge for.

Still seeing MPs going on about the EU having to make concessions. I don't get how the DUP can be so stupid. They should vote these wankers down in the NC vote today. Maybe Russo's booking them and they'll do it and it'll be a massive swerve.

1. Corbyn would not be able to get a better deal out of Brexit. That's either blind loyalty, wishful thinking or both.

2. The DUP are not as much stupid as they're arrogant. Seeing Sammy Wilson having the smackdown laid on him on Channel 4 yesterday evening was brilliant.

Maybe he wouldnt, but doesn't that presume he would try to negotiate the same deal? Six tests etc.

What should happen is Article 50 is delayed, there is an amendment that NO DEAL cannot happen, and then this needs to be a cross party issue. Nobody voted for the Tories to negotiate this, the election after showed that. It needs a cross party talks.

Anyway, she has no credibility at all. 2 and a bit years of wasted time and mismanagement. What was David Davis doing? Its ridiculous.

Brutal honesty. They were sold an undeliverable fantasy by Tory spivs & their tabloid pals. We don't 'hold all the cards', they don't 'need us more than we need them', the unfortunate reality is we're a serviced based economy with very little domestically owned manufacturing. We put together (mostly) foreign parts for foreign companies who are based here as a gateway to Europe. The very real problems people are facing aren't because of the EU, it's because of successive UK governments & the EU has been a handy scapegoat which plays well into peoples existing fears & the British exceptionalism. It'd likely be a bitter pill to swallow but it's the truth.

It's as likely as me waking up tomorrow with an 80's Bon Jovi barnet though.

Even more annoyed at Cameron for just pissing off after the vote. Could have shaped the handover way fucking better, and stated that the people  had not voted to leave either the single market or customs union, simply the institutions enforced . Then he should have resigned. Such a fucking clown. I always hated the smarmy bastard. Hate him even more now

I’m an Irishman so forgive me if my perception isn’t accurate .

But why the hate towards Cameron. Surely Farrage etc are the ones deserving of the hate.

Cameron kept his promise to have a referendum, he expected that a leave vote would be a mess and quit as it wasn’t something he wanted to do anyway.

Not sitrrring the pot but it doesn’t seem to an outsider like he did anything wholey wrong. Except maybe promising to have a referendum but surely the fact that “Leave” won means that he was right to have that referendum ?
