Fond memories of when I was a kid and my mum smoked and I absolutely hated it but that didn't put me off pretending to smoke with a packet of candy sticks. Quote

Fuck, I can taste them just from the picture. Hands down the most disgusting chocolate I've ever tasted in my life. Made Hersheys seem like Lindt. I think they may have actually put me off ever smoking, they were so bad. Quote
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted February 22 Paid Members Posted February 22 I’m utterly amazed they were still being produced as recently as January this year. I hadn’t seen a box for absolutely years. I remember buying and eating them in the mid-1990s because they had collectible Spider-Man cards on the back at the height of the animated series. Quote
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted February 22 Paid Members Posted February 22 The modern ones were shit anyway, too soft and crumbly. When I was young, they were made of a far harder substance that you could suck into a sharp point, and then stab your sister with. Quote

The bastard. Quote

We used to have Wham bars which combined with the Eclair sweets were filing removers !! Quote
deathrey Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Chewy sweets are my weakness. Fruit Gums, Eclairs etc I can't get enough of them. There was a long period of time that I couldn't eat any jelly sweets as they all had gelatine in them (I'm vegetarian) and I think its the only reason is till have all my own teeth and no fillings. Now as an adult, I just have to not buy them otherwise I will sit and eat the whole packet at once, I have no self control but it's a nice once a year treat. By the end my teeth hurt and I remember why I don't buy them. Quote

I'm a complete chocoholic, so any sweet-buying opportunity, that tends to be all I buy, but, on the occasion I'm feeling for something different, I quite like either cola bottles, or these: Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted February 23 Members Posted February 23 Sour Sparks are the best Haribo at the moment. Or Balla Bites. Quote
deathrey Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Only the Giant Strawberries are vegetarian so I've not had any other Haribo for nearly 3 decades. I'm also a chocoholic @Carbomb, I think I eat chocolate everyday. I'm actually ashamed at how much I can get through sometimes, though I am picky and go for high cocoa content over sugary chocolate like Cadbury. Chocolate doesn't stick to your teeth so much so my dentist is still happy. Edited February 23 by deathrey Quote

Paid Members BigJag Posted February 24 Paid Members Posted February 24 I refuse to acknowledge Haribos as proper sweets. If you do like them. Do not look up their production process. Mint Creams used to be a sweet I would always look out for. They are extremely difficult to find now. Which is a good thing for my dental health. As I intend to keep my teeth intact. Mentos are a great weakness of mine. I can chomp through a packet in a matter of minutes. Quote
Paid Members air_raid Posted February 24 Paid Members Posted February 24 (edited) The other day I learned that when you buy cotton socks from Nike and Adidas, you’re actually buying Gildan. It makes perfect sense to me - if Gildan branded socks went into shops at Gildan price, nobody would buy them. Instead they sell them to big names who put a huge mark up on, and people buy them. Ah, the power of brands. Edited February 24 by air_raid Quote
