Are Currently both shows are still ongoing after Law & Order returned a couple of years ago after originally ending back in 2010 Organised Crime is on going as well currently and Criminal Intent had a decent run of around 10 seasons so I'd guess it must be close to 1,500 (if not more) episodes across the entire franchise of Law & Order Which seems mental Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted October 17, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 17, 2025 It also shares a universe with Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med, which have around 700 episodes between them. Quote

Paid Members Monkee Posted October 18, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 18, 2025 There was a Law & Order-themed pop-up in New York recently called the Dun Dun Diner with merchandise and cast appearances. I would love to have gone to this - I have a thing for Olivia Benson. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted October 18, 2025 Posted October 18, 2025 SVU is a real comfort watch for me which I'm not sure it should be. Quote
davertfnewman Posted October 23, 2025 Posted October 23, 2025 Power Rangers, which still is going today, spawned a lot of copycat/cash-in shows, the first of which was VR Troopers, using footage from a Japanese show for action and building some American content around it. I thought it was a case that after thirteen weeks the audience had turned their nose up at it and it was consigned to the rubbish pile of history - instead, it went for two years and almost a hundred episodes! A lot longer than I thought for what was an obvious flop. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted October 23, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 23, 2025 I had a couple of VR Troopers toys. Never seen the show in my life, so they were undoubtably bought for me because they were cheap in Littlehampton market. Quote
davertfnewman Posted October 23, 2025 Posted October 23, 2025 I thought the main character looked awesome with his red and blue costume and circuitry motif and the main villain and his goons were fairly creepy in appearance and could've fit into Terrahawks or Star Fleet, but most of the show seemed to be about the goofy side characters and the talking dog. Paid Members JLM Posted October 23, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 23, 2025 Yeah Saban got a lot of mileage out of that Power Rangers formula. Masked Rider did the same thing, using footage from Kamen Rider, and also ran for close to 100 episodes. I remember the excellent lyrics to the theme song. Masked Ri…der! Masked Ri…der! There was also Big Bad Beetleborgs but I was too old for that one. Quote
RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted October 23, 2025 Posted October 23, 2025 VRT was unique in a sense as the 3 Troopers were only on screen together in American footage, the suit fight scenes were spliced from 3 Japanese Tokumetal shows from the 80s, Metalder (for Ryan’s fight scenes and the villains), Spielban (for JB and Kaitlin’s fights and the Skugs) and Space Sheriff Shaider (for season 2’s fight scenes with Ryan). Also any fight scenes in the Battle Grid with the 3, their suits were cheap spandex and repainted MMPR Red Ranger helmets Its had a mini revival this year as well, as a cannon part Boom Studios’ Power Rangers comics, with the team being an anti PR task force in the on going Power Rangers Prime series and their own comic series spin off plus Boom have put out 2 issues so far (with two more to come before the year’s out) reprinting the original VRT comics from 1995 that were released as a flip book format with stories based on MMPR season 3 Quote
davertfnewman Posted October 24, 2025 Posted October 24, 2025 I also learned that the female actress married producer Shuki Levy, who's responsible for most of the cartoon theme tunes you know from the eighties, which would be great given he and partner Haim Saban made a fortune, however he was a nasty bastard and it didn't last. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 24, 2025 Moderators Posted October 24, 2025 In the early 2000s VR troopers was often on TV super late night, and as a result was a staple of post-ppv viewing when high and/or drunk, and usually signalled bedtime. As such I have fond, if very vague, memories of it. They had a recurring gimmick of the dog making a bemused Tim Allen noise I think. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted November 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 3, 2025 There was a police/legal drama called Michael Hayes in the late 90s starring David Caruso https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Hayes_(TV_series) Only lasted a series. Should have called it Purely Sexy. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted November 3, 2025 Paid Members Posted November 3, 2025 A legal drama, you say? Should've been called On The Dock (Hendrix). Quote
CL Punk Posted November 4, 2025 Posted November 4, 2025 Today, I learned that Frankenstein and Inside Llwelyn Davis actor Oscar Isaac was the bassist and singer in two ska bands from 1995 to 2001. Quote
