The Headhunters showing up twice in WWE and disappearing after one appearance both times. The second time in 97 really stood out as I was right in the midst of my initial tape trading phase and had seen a ton of them in IWA Japan, so was disappointed to see them vanish again.

Just watched the main event this morning (as multi-man ladder matches are generally a good laugh) and thought it was absolute dogshit. I think this was my first time seeing Jevon Evans and he seemed to be missing shit all over the place with his spinny kick things. And the whole premise of the ambulance spot was stupid - in a match where guys are throwing each other off ladders you choose to have a (pretty basic looking) spear spot for a stretcher job? Bizarre choice. And yeah, the way they shot the eventual spot took away any impact anyway. And I can't even remember where Owens and Punk went - they seemed to just vanish for the last 10 minutes. Genuinely terrible.

He had to lead an assembly of actual students before even having the job? Surely that's all kinds of inappropriate? And how does that even work - the students have to sit through presentations from everyone being interviewed? Bizarre.

Slightly off topic but Triple H looks like a right scruffy bastard with his new shit hair and unbuttoned shirt look. Like a middle manager at the pub on a Friday afternoon. What on earth has possessed him to grow his hair out at this point.

You're thinking about this from a very outdated perspective where attendance numbers and ratings were the main metrics. Running live shows in the same area as AEW has far less to do with making fans choose which show to attend and far more to do with making sure the media and commercial attention in that area doesn't all go towards AEW (and in some cases actually making them choose one or the other). Same goes for these televised counter-shows - every news story or social media post about the WWE show is a direct dilution of what could have otherwise been full attention on AEW. It's about trying to limit/reduce AEW's growth and momentum - any adverse impact to AEW's attendance/ratings are just a happy by-product rather than the main goal. **EDIT** @tiger_rick beat me to it!

Wasn't it Dustin who got disciplined/sacked from WWE for letting someone do something dangerous in a match he was agenting? I have vague memories of some sort of incident, though I may be mixing him up with someone else.

You'd be amazed at how often I think about these times all these years later. Group games of Inklink, Flipside TV marathons (including pre-wrong 'un Justin Lee Collins) on Channel 4, getting k-lined for trolling other chat rooms, the excitement of when Raw actually started airing live on Sky. I think there was a year of my (jobless) life where I never went to bed before daylight thanks to this place. Fantastic times right before I had to get a proper adult life and social media destroyed the internet/world. I love that this place is still a tangible link to that part of my life when it's so long ago now and so many things in the real world have disappeared during that time. Here's to the next 25!

I must have watched this 50 times now and can't for the life of me work out where it loops. Or am I missing the joke and it's been deliberately edited to look that way?
