Lovely start to the day waking up to the Republicans being slaughtered in the US midterms. I hadn't let myself get my hopes up after the last election polls were predicting a Trump loss and how that turned out, but this almost makes up for it. Between this, Reform sliding down the polls in the UK, Bolsonaro losing in Brazil and Netanyahu teetering on the edge in Israel, I'm almost allowing myself a sense of optimism.

I really have no room to talk because I'm reminded frequently how useless I am at household chores, but my other half must have the worst dishwasher loading technique on the planet. Plates flat against each other, mugs on their side, upright bowls, knives with protective covers on... an absolute disaster every time. And forget worrying about whether the spray arm can actually rotate or not - stuff just gets piled in with complete disregard. Gear grinding.

It was always going to be hard to follow the incredible first series but this just didn't end up coming close. They did manage to build some good drama in the final game but the weeks preceeding that were all pretty forgettable. There was the odd highlight (paranoid Ross Kemp) but otherwise it all felt really uneventful. Richard fucking himself over on day 1 and James A just not being up for being a traitor didn't help matters. Just an unfortunate mix of events and personalities.

Cornette has mentioned Davey went into business for himself because he had no interest in working with them. So that basically killed them dead on arrival.

I absolutely only use "zed" in normal day-to-day life but would still say "gen zee" as it originated in America and in my head is more of a name than a question of spelling. Same with Jay-Z, World War Z, ZZ Top, etc.

Yep, this is exactly how I feel about him. I can't bring myself to watch most of his media appearances because he comes across as so insincere, as if every answer has been workshopped to death to produce the most profound response to even the most basic questions.

The Headhunters showing up twice in WWE and disappearing after one appearance both times. The second time in 97 really stood out as I was right in the midst of my initial tape trading phase and had seen a ton of them in IWA Japan, so was disappointed to see them vanish again.

Just watched the main event this morning (as multi-man ladder matches are generally a good laugh) and thought it was absolute dogshit. I think this was my first time seeing Jevon Evans and he seemed to be missing shit all over the place with his spinny kick things. And the whole premise of the ambulance spot was stupid - in a match where guys are throwing each other off ladders you choose to have a (pretty basic looking) spear spot for a stretcher job? Bizarre choice. And yeah, the way they shot the eventual spot took away any impact anyway. And I can't even remember where Owens and Punk went - they seemed to just vanish for the last 10 minutes. Genuinely terrible.

He had to lead an assembly of actual students before even having the job? Surely that's all kinds of inappropriate? And how does that even work - the students have to sit through presentations from everyone being interviewed? Bizarre.
