Street Profits are ace. Anyone else in that spot on Raw would be death but fortunately those two lads have got charisma coming out of their arse.

Maybe that's it. The 'best of a bad bunch' scenario.

Although I liked Matt Striker so I probably just don't have much taste in commentators.

I just discovered Matt striker (watched an old rumble last weekend)- I thought he was great!

It's always been the case: Michael Cole has been doing it for 20 years straight, Joey Styles & Tony Schiavone did it every week in the 90's.

They are all trying to put across the notion that what is happening is a huge deal, but some are more annoying than others when doing that.

I regularly watch NXT and have never had a problem with Ranallo, Matt Striker is the worst one I have ever heard.

I think it was WrestleMania 26 when Cole was calling a Triple H match by describing the moves and the usual stuff when Striker suddenly piped up "Triple H is the ACE OF SPADES!".

An awkward silence followed before Cole carried on calling the match.

Mauro was at his best on the main shows, I assume that Vince was screaming in his ear constantly back then.

Only time I remotely enjoyed Striker was when he took a shot at Lawler once.

Lawler: Do you even know what it's like to be a world champion?

Striker: I don't know. I never owned my own territory.

Every time he said my little English muffin about Layla, my skin crawled. Fucking creep.

You're wrong, he's the worst commentator in WWE history.

'I'M MARKING OUT BRO' during the Royal Rumble is the most cringeworthy call of all time too.

I have that as second to Mauro's recent "THE JOSHI JUDAS!!!" call from the last Takeover, that he then busted out again during this week's NXT.

Also, every wrestler was being referred to by various nicknames this week. It did my fucking head in, and Mauro dropping in pop culture references every fucking second doesn't help.

"THAT MATCH WAS SHORTER THAN A TIK-TOK VIDEO!".

FUCK OFF, MAURO.

Wasn’t sure which thread to put this in, but it seems Dijakovic has taken offence to an interview Kenny Omega has done stating AEW will present ‘real stars’, not development talent.

Omega needs to hope NXT doesnt outdraw AEW in TV ratings [or even come close, for that matter].
Promo rule No. 1 - NEVER bury your opponent. If NXT beats, or comes close to beating AEW ratings wise then these 'bunch of developmental guys' will have beaten/come close to beating the second largest company in the USA... and that's not a good look.

I thought Mauro was exempt from slagging cos he's always going on about his mental illness on twitter. I think he's shite too. Not embarrassing Striker level shite, but not far off either.

Not a decent announcer on WWE these days. They all seem to be overproduced to the umpteenth degree, and trying to force a classic call. It doesn't work that way, you think they'd have copped that by now.

Outside of a handful of guys, AEW is just developmental guys really as well, isn’t it?

Never really thought about before but I have to admit I think you're right with guys like joey, private party, kip, and the King of developmental Shawn spears
