We just put a show called The Boroughs on, and the mum from Malcolm In The Middle is playing an entirely grey haired, recently deceased pensioner.

Sorry, Kenan and Kel. You thought you'd be haunting my apnea riddled nightmares tonight? Take a seat, there's a new horror in town.

Today's Louise Wener's 60th Birthday.

I joined the Sleeper Fan Club when she was 30.

Ash are doing the 1977 30th anniversary tour this year. It's only a couple of years since I went on the Free All Angels 20th anniversary tour, which made me feel even older because I remember going to see Ash when they were promoting that album 20 years before. It's only two years until Gomez's Bring It On 30th anniversary tour.

Watching your parents age.

I'm now more than double the age my Mum was when she had me. my younger sister left school more than 20 years ago. i'm trying not to work out how old my grandad would have been when i was a child 😕

I've been doing a project trying to find out my favourite 10 songs of each year since 1960 and realising songs i still think of as fairly new are ancient and acts i see as newcomers have been around for 15 years.

I started trying to get fitter earlier this year, just walking more and lifting weights and messed my left knee up. whilst resting that for a few weeks i fucked my right knee up worse and you just start to think it's all downhill from here. I've also been forgetting a hell of a lot of things recently.

I had what was probably my first “old man injury for no reason” this weekend at 37 years old.

Pulled something near my pec/ribcage without actually doing anything physical, that coincided with me also coming down with something cold-like, which meant every cough and sneeze felt like I was being stabbed.

My back and knees have been fucked for years so them going didnt bother me as I got into my 40s, however having to buy my first pair of readers made me feel like I was stabbed in the heart. How much more betrayal can I take?

It's my 40th birthday next year and I can remember my own parents 40th birthday parties very vividly from when I was a kid. Now I'm turning 40 with kids of my own. Feels very weird.

I'm turning 40 in a couple of months time. My Dad was that age when I took off from Ireland at 20 years old to live in the UK. That, and the fact that very soon I'll have spent half my life here just do not compute for me.

I think having kids in general has made me feel old, but also confused because mentally I don't really get how small people are dependent on me.

My son calling the music I like horrible and me thinking the music he likes is absolute shite just made me think about how I thought my Dad was a misserable old git for the same thing. It's not as if I was into the Levellers or Oasis when I was young.

Skynet turned on us in 2019, didn’t it?

it's become a bit of a ritual for me every New Year to look up what sci-fi took place in the coming year.

2026 was Doom, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, and Metropolis.

My birthday is the 29th of August, which is Judgment Day in Terminator 2, so it does come to mind on my birthday each year. We weren’t quite there in 1997,  which is when it happens in the movie, but it’s interesting to see how much more plausible it seems each year.  It’s a good thing people aren’t being slaughtered  by drones or replaced with AI or I’d be quite concerned.
