It's why this discussion is always pointless, as there's ways of arguing it from each of the wrestlers side based on the little knowledge we have.

On the one hand 'Punk kept me off Collision' is bad.

On the other 'They wouldn't let me work Wednesdays, told me I had to work the graveyard shift on Saturdays away from those people who wouldn't let me work, then they kept sending people who despise me to provoke me' sounds like workplace bullying too.

We just don't know enough, other than every time this comes up everyone involved sounds like an utter toddler.

It's all cobblers, and the only person anyone should be calling a cunt is Khan. Cultures start at the top.

Why are wrestlers becoming execs? What does Punk have in experience that'd make him a good fit for that job?

The company started off that way - it seems like, originally, The Elite were involved in booking (before Khan took it back), Cody was PR, The Bucks were talent scouts and Kenny was in charge of the video game. Their contract would involve benefits and probably different parts to their job and reward package, rather than just straight talent payment - basically, the opportunity to earn a lot more. Punk was effectively made head booker of Collision, and my guess is that he was involved with negotiations, by the sound of his talk about David Zaslav in the past.

Was there some sort of pre-existing heat with Punk and Nemeth? Not justifying Punk's behaviour at all, he's defintely got it in his loicker based on history, but it's curious if Nemeth reached out to the legal department prior to things happening without there being some sort of existing issue or heat between them? Feels like there's a missing detail somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was mainly down to Nemeth being a BTE regular, so Punk saw him as one of the Buck's crew.

My interpretation of what Nemeth is saying is that, for the most part, his mistreatment was at Punk's hands, but his issue is that AEW allowed Punk to behave this way without it being handled properly. And they ignored his complaints, which were clearly valid.

I'd originally thought that it was mainly Punk being the big star was the main reason Khan wanted to keep him happy, allowing him more free reign, and quietly sidelining Colt Cabana (whether or not Punk actually asked for that), which was the whole thing that kicked all of the issues off backstage in the first place. But if Punk was a more senior exec than has been talked about before, then it sounds like their HR department just never saw this coming and had no idea how to handle it. Not least because it's all quite a wrestling-specific set of issues, so who does have experience of something like Punk being part of a trust-based locker room while also throwing his weight around as (effectively) people's boss at the same time?

No idea what the promo bit is about - I'd half-guess they were beginning to try to turn it all into a storyline (which there was beginning to be some speculation about, if memory serves, and Punk/Omega were both interested in doing so), and it was communicated lousily.

But yeah, Nemeth is right. Regardless of where he was on the card, he was an employee, and he's pretty bang-up on how employees should be treated. Just because he wasn't assaulted doesn't mean that it was okay for him to be treated the way he was. And it's all the kind of stuff that AEW have definitely talked the talk about before - things may be simpler now there's not someone actively agitating people like Punk was, but the issues that allowed it to happen are still there.

So it seems that this was originally presented as a "Gotcha" on Punk by Scorch

If you ignore my comments I’ve made on this, sure. But no it was posted as I thought it was worth discussing the whole piece.

Without quoting the whole piece. I'm putting you on ignore now, your comments are of no further interest to me.

Please point out what I left out from this article where I found it https://wrestlingheadlines.com/ryan-nemeth-claims-aew-silently-fired-him-following-incident-with-cm-punk/ and then I’ll apologise. Otherswise stop being an absolute Josh Alexander.

I'm not one for editing out stuff in historic videos but can't they do it with his horrible facial hair.

I found it quite warming that he showed his love of Emmerdale by getting the Amos Brierley look.

I bet he genuinely thought he looked like a cool Wolverine but he didn't even look like Marcus from Big Brother.
