Paid Members BomberPat Posted November 20, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 20, 2024 Punk and Kingston was brilliant, and I think it's a shame that a lot of Punk's run is going to be memory-holed because of how it ended. Their promo segment was probably the most believable in history, just two very stubborn and thin-skinned men shouting over each other, rather than waiting their turn and leaving space for a crowd reaction after a one-liner. Almost everything after Brawl Out was an unproductive waste of time, sure, but practically everything Punk did in AEW before that was great, in ways that I don't think anything he has done or will do in WWE since could possibly match. He left potential big matches on the table, but so did Cody, so did Danielson, so did Sting, so would anyone else leaving AEW now, because they're gun-shy when it comes to actually booking big marquee matches for the sake of it, even if the tribalist criticism is that Khan always books "dream matches" with no build. How are portmanteauing their names, then? LaScorch? Hannigoosh? As much as I enjoyed both portmanteaus, I'd rather @LaGoosh wasn't tarnished with being associated with me. He deserves better than that. Unlike Mowgli who deserves every CD or Vinyl he owns to be scratched rendering the best tracks unlistenable. Quote
Chili Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 *Yeah, Punk's run up to his Hangman match was great and nobody should forget it, minus the Bobby Fish match because he deserves nothing. *He's CM Punk, if he acted pretty chill and not petty we'd be discussing potential CTE with him. *Still can't believe this fucker hasn't heard of Rocky III. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 20, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 20, 2024 I thought the Rocky III thing was not that he'd not heard of it, just that he'd never seen it and didn't know what happened. And neither do I, the first two were bad enough. Quote

Paid Members mim731 Posted November 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 25, 2024 Quite enjoyed watching this. Obviously there's lots of playing for the cameras, but it's quite a nice moment nevertheless. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted November 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 25, 2024 That CM Punk chant drowning out Cult of Personality is still fucking nuts a year on. They lost their shit. Quote
The King of Old School Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) Not quite as good as the initial Rampage return but still great. Edited November 25, 2024 by The King of Old School Quote

Great clip still. Quote
