Punk will take any opportunity he can to take petty shots because that's who he is. It's the most predictable and boring thing ever. I couldn't imagine why anyone would find it interesting.

It’s also AEW PPV week, so right on schedule for an ex AEW wrestler to say something shitty.

It's a boring non-story but if he's talking about Bobby Fish then I completely agree with him.

Bobby Fish kicking out of the G2S at 3.1 is very funny looking back on it. Deranged behaviour.

Petty shots are a major part of the wrestling business and a huge part of wrestling fandom so Philip is hardly unique when it comes to this. Let's face it a petty shot could have been a sliding doors moment in his whole career. We all know that he wouldn't have lasted for years in AEW but REAL GLASS dramatically hastened his departure when there were still interesting stories to be told, but no it was bye bye Philip go and get a storyline that revolves around a bracelet over.

Petty shots are never boring, from sunny days to vanilla midgets they add energy to the thin skinned business of wrestling that would otherwise be missing, and the best thing is you don't even have to watch them to comment, not that that would happen here of course ?

Yep, sadly wrestling is full to the brim with thin skinned mentalists.

I also think we're allowing ourselves to get sucked into taking sides again, when in reality I think both sides would agree vast swathes of Punk's run in AEW was a complete waste of time. A waste of the companies resources sinking time and money into a doomed project with a wrestler who they didn't seem to like and who didn't like them right back; and a waste of time from the wrestlers perspective as he's probably acutely aware he's got limited time left in the body and he spent some of that in a company which now pretends he doesn't exist.

I think in the grand scheme of things, whilst some stuff was good at the time (the return, the MJF feud) it was pretty much a waste.

It's weird as well because you would assume Punk had enough pull that he could have picked and choosed his opponents or said no to matches if he didn't want to do them.

But really looking back I don't think there's a huge amount of stuff Punk didn't get to do that would have been too exciting. I know we didn't get Omega/Punk but even if there wasn't all the real life heat I don't think it would have been very good, probably just an awkward styles clash.

We got the MJF feud and the fun but short Kingston feud and that's better than most wrestlers will ever do in their whole career.

I can’t wait for Mowgli’s big “why I did it” promo. I reckon LaGoosh didn’t text him to see how he was doing when he was out injured. Scorch of course trekked across a vast mountain range with the elephants only to reveal the secret of man’s fire to a rival tribe, which is how he got his username.

The Eddie Kingston promo/feud/match is some of the best work of Punk’s entire career. Made even better by the fact that I still have absolutely no idea how much of it was a work or whether they truly hated each other. The way in which they’ve barely mentioned each other since, keeping the magic alive? Perfection.

Punk could have had a thousand Bobby Fish matches and it would have been worth it just for his stuff with the Mad King.

Punk calling Kingston a bum is the best promo delivery he's ever done in his life. Kingston always brings the best out in people.

Are you suggesting LaGoosh and Hannibal Scorch are the same person? How are portmanteauing their names, then? LaScorch? Hannigoosh?
