It depends if you're in the area anyway. My husband will stay over at his mum's in West Brom a couple of night a week . Diesel is much much cheaper there so whilst he would normally take the electrics car, every now and then, he takes the diesel and will top it up.

Surely if you're driving more than a few miles out of your way, that negates any savings?

Obviously I only got fuel at Costco if I was going anyway to get bourbon and cheese (and all the other stuff Mrs W added to the trolley) but since the invasion I haven't had any fuel there is just not worth the queuing.

Yeah, completely - I'd class that as not going out of your way.

I've just got back from the pharmacy where I was picking up my mums prescription. It wasnt quite ready so i had to wait. Unusually I was the only one in there, normally its heaving. I'd been sat there for a minute or so and this guy comes in to collect his prescription. He is well dressed and probably in his early 60s. They get his prescription and the pharmacist asks him if he'd ever had an allergic reaction to medication and he said yes.

She asks what he'd had a reaction to, and he looked a little embarrassed but tells her that he hurt his hand 5 weeks ago and it swelled up. So he took the only tablets he had in the house which he thought could help, which were some tablets left over from when his dog had been prescribed them by the vet because he didn't want to waste them. Then he'd had a reaction to the tablets that made the swelling in his hand worse.

She said that she thought he'd be OK with his prescription and then he left. After he'd gone the pharmacist looked across to me where I'm already laughing and she said. "I should have asked him if he had a cold wet nose" which absolutely killed me.

We've not been with this pharmacy long but I think we will get on just fine.

Had a kickabout earlier with my youngest. Nothing much, probably about hour and a half in the park.

Can barely fucking move! Getting old and having knees made out of wafers is absolutely shite.

Since when have Cadburys Easter eggs not been egg shaped? Had one earlier and it looked fine from the front, but had been squished by about 40% into an ellipse from the side view.

I was asked last year to start coaching my son's team as the existing coach was a nice guy but didn't seem to havr a great deal of knowledge.

The morning after the first session I genuinely felt like I had been hit by a car.

At least last year. And some are still. But you need to actually check what you’re getting. Looking at the ingredients and the advertised weight of the egg. Some of those larger eggs are smaller than the medium ones, and those are normally the flattened ones.

Feel like I have a Jesus Fucking Christ/Baby Reindeer situation right now. A couple months ago we got pelted with snow and I was outside shoveling snow off our driveway. Randomly this woman comes up to me and introduces themselves as the new neighbour - for context our house backs on to another one on the street next to us, so they are fairly close. They said they just moved here and just wanted to say hello. I hate this kind of thing, but was like "oh well" and had a very small chat with them.

A week or so later they rang on my door unexpectedly. A bit odd I thought but I answered it (I'm the kind of person who ignores strangers ringing their doorbell) and they asked me if I could do them a favour and help them move a sofa in to their place. I internally groaned at the thought but was like "Yeah no probs". Did that and left ASAP as I could tell they seemingly wanted to be friends or something.

Well now this person is stopping by all the time and ringing my doorbell seemingly for random reasons - showed up on St Patricks day, I wasn't home, showed up last weekend with a dog randomly(???) and then showed up both Saturday and Sunday just gone. So far I've just been ignoring them and being like "what the fuck".

Then last night around 8:30pm I get a ring on the doorbell...JESUS FUCKING CHRIST...it was her. I was really quite annoyed at this point and answered the door in a huff, they were there to "bring me some beer they brewed". On the spot I just said "I'm trying not to drink alcohol right now" and basically closed the door on them. Yeah I could've just said "Thanks, but also stop coming over here", but my god who does this??? Everyone I've spoken to thinks it is weird.

I'm sure she is just trying to be nice, make some friends locally, and the type of person that doesn't pick up on social cues, but I am just the wrong target to try to make friends with in this way.

Your situation is basically the plot of Friendship starring Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson. It's a fun film; you might be able to relate to it!

I’m ill again ffs.

My body has packed in for the third of fourth time this year. Started at dinner time Wednesday, and I’ve only gone further downhill since. Don’t have any tests knocking around to see if it is, but feels very similar to when I had Covid the first time around in Aug of 2021, which was absolutely brutal.

A whole new level last night though, as I seen my dead brother at the top of the stairs as I struggled up them for a piss. A mad combo of realising I was hallucinating, but a small part wondering what if I wasn’t. I also remember thinking if he was still there when I reached the top, it’d be 50/50 if I gave him a hug or knocked the arsehole out. Thinking about it now though, it was nice to see him again, even if it was my illness addled brain that conjured him up.

Will have to get my arse to the doc for some bloods. There must be something else at play for me to be ill as often as I am. Maybe my years of neglecting healthy foods, and quite frankly, ridiculous alcohol intake have finally caught up, but who knows. As I type, my Fitbit is telling me my BPM is 104 as I sit on my sofa. Been like this all day. Can guarantee that in six or seven weeks time, this’ll all happen again and my body will fold in on itself once more.

Probably the wrong thing to be worrying about, but I have a ticket for Forest / Villa on Sunday and I’ll be raging if I’m still too poorly to go.

Christ matey that sounds brutal :( whether it is the cause of the issues or not, having a break from the booze for a bit will certainly make you feel a bit better. Hope you are ok!
