It was only days ago that post rock band Talons, who've been a very special band for me personally over the last 13 years, announced the passing of their violinist Sam Little. Now waking up to the news about Taylor Hawkins, and it suddenly feels that it isn't just people from the older generations that are going but people 10 years either side of me who seemed like they had years ahead of them.

I know he’d been having some specialist treatment to help and I believe had planned to go back on tour only early this year. 33 is no age at all

I just remembered that I actually saw The Wanted perform live on stage in Las Vegas of all places when I went to the Billboard awards that year. Not a band I ever followed but Glad You Came was their hit in America at the time and it was a decent pop song.
