Bret always talks about wishing he got to wrestle Rey in particular and I’m fascinated by how that match might’ve looked. Closest I can get to picturing it in my head is Bret’s match with 123 Kid on Raw in 94 and that was one of the all time great TV matches ever. Have to imagine Bret vs Rey could’ve come close to that, if not bettered it. If given the opportunity though, which they probably wouldn’t have been in WCW. It’d have most likely been nothing more than a 5 minute segment (with entrances) on Nitro, ending in a DQ. 

I can absolutely picture the finish with Rey doing his west coast pop spot and either hitting it and Bret keeps rolling through into the sharpshooter, or blocks with a leverage powerbomb into the same submission finish. Both would have been lovely.

The opening of the 1989 Survivor Series with everyone saying what they're thankful for is one of my favourite bits of WWF TV ever.

WWE posted this yesterday for the 19th anniversary of Eddie's death. Hell of a shot.

Self-posting wanker, but I went to Kendo Nagasaki's retirement match tonight, on the 60th anniversary of his debut match. And took some photos.

I liked this one enough to play around with it in black and white too - just because something a bit timeless about Kendo like that.

 

Also pleased with pictures of his ceremonial unmasking and him afterwards.
