Madeley is only funny, if he ever is, because he's a completely oblivious twat. So getting him to try and make people laugh by doing his prepared material was never going to work. Paid Members Nexus Posted March 28 Paid Members Posted March 28 My wife and I binged 'Bait' last night, the new Riz Ahmed comedy about an aspiring Pakistani actor trying to be cast as James Bond. I genuinely thought it was excellent. There's a moment at the end of the third episode where I genuinely had a visceral reaction of shock and gasped. The script is decent, the direction is really good, and I enjoyed all of the cast. Quote

Carr would sell his granny if she'd turn a profit. He doesn't care who is paying, like his corporate dinner at the British Museum to celebrate the founding of Israel with Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage amongst others. Davies might not be your cup of tea as a comic but he isn't doing the Riyadh Comedy Festival or hanging around with Peter Thiel. That's the problem people have with Carr. Carr is crap at everything, but he's about 5% of LOL so he's not dragging it down that much. The host role is worthless here anyway. I have no problem with Conaty. The people in it are all great and I am enjoying their interactions but I'm not sure I'll be able to stick with it just because the editing is so horrible. I hate the reality TV ness of it. Endless previews and recaps, pointless host chat, interview segments that add nothing. Quote

I quite like some of the mens version but it often resorts to nothing but dick jokes especially as Japanese humour is so based on bodily actions, these women are much better. I think thats mainly because they're playing the game for six hours in total and the show is six one-hour episodes. They need to edit out all the boring bits and the setting up of stuff which leaves them with less footage than they have air time so they need to make up the rest of the time somehow. The only way they could do it without all the recaps/chat/interviews is if they played the game for longer which I doubt they'd agree to, made the episodes a lot shorter or just played it all in real time.
