I looked up this Sol Snatcher and was very disappointed that it was just another silly Cutter. I was expecting something interesting at the very least, not just another version of the same shite everyone does these days.

Could happily never see a Cutter again for the rest of my life.

Not even Seth’s new finish, the Costcutter?

Don't encourage them, you're surely only a few months away from finishers having sponsors. "RKO, sponsored by Night Nurse"

Would be a better fit for the Go To Sleep.

Well Backlash may as well not have happened, for all the impact it's had on the top of the card. I didn't get through the entire show from Saturday and I could've picked up just fine if I hadn't even known it occurred. Nothing that happened seems to have accelerated or altered anything.

I'm starting to think Roman Reigns might be... I dunno, a little bit wank? He's still doing the exact same things he did as a heel when he was on the 1000+ reign, but now he's a babyface? And the Usos are still taking bumps for him? While I think all of us can agree that the actual experiment of Main Event Jey Uso was ultimately a failure, it's slightly sad to see him reduced so far as this. And it's really annoying me that Roman has still shown zero contrition for everything that happened with the Bloodline storyline. Even in this show, it would've been easy for him to show some sort of concern or regret after Jacob smacked Jey around in gorilla, but there he is, standing in the ring allowing his pawns to go forward - like a heel champion! At this point, isn't Jacob the face?

Maybe he'll come out next week and say he doesn't want his cousins fighting his battles any more. I could be proven wrong very quickly. Right now though, the whole thing just doesn't seem to work as a dynamic for me, and only seems to be surviving because people think Roman is cool now and like chanting 'OTC' and pointing.

Other than that, a perfectly functional if 'nothing' show. I guess that is an improvement over what we were getting a few months back, but it's a little stagnant.

I mean, this is partly insane as he's just a few weeks removed from a consensus banger Wrestlemania main event.

He's just a big game player. He's built an act that I actually don't know maps well onto a full time schedule. For all people crow about needing him to be full time, i'm not sure it's actually best for him and the company. Just bring him in for the big stuff.

I don’t think Roman is wank. I think his matches are very formulaic, especially during his last championship reign. But people obviously like it. So it’s not for me, but good if it’s for thee.

Aren't every top guys matches formulaic to an extent? It's a "You are paying to see the hits" mentality. It happened with Hogan. It happened with Austin. Same with Cena. Even Bret had his routine.

Is it rather that the formula is maybe not as appealing? Orton has his formula and it's not overly appealing to me but I can see why he does it and it generally works.

I mean, Roman has just had a brilliant match with Punk working within his set formula.

I don't even think it's a top guy thing. The majority of wrestling is built on repetition and familiarity. Entrances, signature moves, phrases etc. It's all part of the anticipation and the interaction.

I was talking more about all his matches seemed to have him cheating on someone interfering to win more than anything.

A worthless, nothing, completely skippable Raw, but at least they got their shit in. The stuff that really matters!

Raquel Rodriguez to Paige:

“Given a million chances and still fumbles every single one. We’re all just waiting for your next big scandal to hit.”

Although there’s been almost nothing scandalous about the character of Paige within the fictional universe, this is in reference to the woman portraying this character, Saraya Bevis, who’s suffered a petty harrowing personal life.

Private photos and sex tapes leaked, drug and alcohol issues, a public, abusive relationship, all leading to what she described as stress-induced anorexia, depression and considering suicide.

I know Paige is quite open about everything and seems much happier and healthier, but still. What a fucking grim, shitty thing to write into your storylines. There’s probably a sizeable chunk of the audience who don’t know about these scandals, so how nice of them to encourage people to Google it, just so they can feel smug and clever.

Dreadful.
