I thought it was generally widely acknowledged that his face work is better than his heel work, which was pretty routine? Definitely was talked about a lot around the time that 3 disc DVD came out.

80s heel touring NWA champ going from territory to territory facing the top babyfaces and making the locals think their guy just might get the belt is the best Flair. Babyface Flair is good but him being humble goes against all his instincts to be the limousine riding, jet flying, wheeling dealing son of a gun that he’s always mean to be.

I can't quite put my finger on why it is, but babyface Flair feels like... I guess some kind of cherished sports hero meets local legend, in a way I struggle to think of anyone else.

There may be people that are dead obvious that I'm missing, but he feels quite unique, in that respect.

Having to make the Horsemen faces by proxy when the nWo formed, was probably my favourite babyface Flair period. Hall/Nash/Hogan were literally the outsiders, with Flair the Southern rasslin fans were like “He’s a bastard, but he’s our bastard.”

Speaks volumes to me that even though it looked like he was supposed to have "retired", Lesnar turning up to dish out some F5's on Oba Femi still feels like one of the most significant, and big moments in WWE right now. Even though it's essentially more copy and paste in a company that just keeps copying and pasting, Lesnar has that big deal feel about him, which outside of some enjoyable moments with Reigns and Jacob WWE just doesn't have at the moment, its all a bit shit isn't it.

WWE's booking of Oba Femi since his dominant win at WrestleMania has just been extremely hit and miss. What even is their plan, because if you don't have a solid plan booking him to win at 'Mania in such a dominant fashion is a bit too much for the time being.

Quite clear there was no plan for him, just the go to lazy trope of an "open challenge".

At least this gives him something more meaningful to get his teeth into again for a couple of weeks, just concerned where it goes afterwards again.

Unless Brock gets the win back and they continue feuding to Summerslam for the rubber match?

State of Brock Lesnar. That poor lad from NXT is getting dragged all over and this piss deviant is out there looking like a swollen bollock.

Must be his 456th "shocking" return.

That would suggest WWE didn't know Lesnar was coming back?

He was always coming back, I just don't think he was coming back for this originally, like I don't think Gunther going over to challenge Cody on Smackdown was the original plan either. The segment with Gunther and LA Knight on the Raw after Mania would also suggest this.

I'd be staggered if putting their only European main event talent into a European main event was a last minute decision.

I'd also guess the Lesnar thing is going to be revealed as a Heyman/Uncle H masterplan on Unreal to rival their last pointless swerve with Rollins injury.

Things can be thought through and shit.

The booking of Oba Femi since Wrestlemania was absolutely fine and anyone who complained about it was categorically wrong. Watching him chuck lads about and/or smash them with Super Street Fighter Uppercuts has been the highlight of every episode.

I hope those who moaned enjoy him now going 50/50 and trading wins with Brock. You get what you deserve.

CM Punk going to Butlins for a month sealed the deal. The echoes are now deafening. A product that’s completely fallen off and left to rot in Punk’s absence, so creatively bankrupt that they’ve hit the big, red, “WE’VE GOT NOTHING, CALL BROCK,” button.

The metamorphosis is complete.

it seems pretty typical of modern WWE that, despite everything, they somehow managed to squeeze some audience goodwill out of Brock Lesnar with the retirement angle, and then fucked it off less than a month later.

Well I'd much rather see Oba & Brock scrapping than watch Oba throw Humberto around.

Could potentially do something interesting with Brocks final run if they have Oba defeat him in less than 5 minutes again, first time he has ever shown any self doubt etc.

They won't though, I imagine they will just trade wins before a rubber match.

Cody, Roman and Brock? Has the Italian government paid for this Clash In Italy show, or something? It’s ridiculously stacked for a B show. Makes this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event card look like an episode of Velocity.

I won’t come as a shock to anyone that there’s not much to discuss about an episode of Raw headlined by Seth Rollins vs. Austin Theory.

Highlight was Paul Heyman backstage after Brock’s return, doing the big, smug Paul Heyman performance, only to trip over his words and call him, “Brock Legnar.”

Oba Femi’s promo next week writes itself.

“And that’s why I kicked your Legnar out of your Legnar!
