And that about sums it up. Chin him, Phil. I've realised this is completely the wrong thread. Apols. Still, chin him Phil. Thought Raw was good, FWIW. I'm not sure about Fatu's clobber. He looks like he's buying from a Sports Direct that specialises in trackie's designed by the guy who did Rick Rude's ring gear. Excited by Punk/Cody. They'll have an absolute ripper, i'm sure. It's interesting that after literal years in the Seth vortex, and a long detour down McIntyre boulevard, they're cycling Punk through the money matches so quickly. I wonder if they've informally put him on his retirement tour. I also wonder if Punk knows. There does seem to be a noticeable shift towards younger talent recently, and with Fatu, Breakker, Trick and Oba the future is looking pretty bright. Happy for Ethan Page, too. He could be a solid upper midcard turn. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted April 21 Paid Members Posted April 21 AFI entrance. Huge, bonkers Shane McMahon elbow drop through the announce table. Finally pulling the trigger on the Cody match. Between the power he’s amassed and the risks he’s taking, it’s enough to make you think Punk’s winding up the career in time to steal Triple H’s job. Quote

They’d be nuts if they don’t save that for SummerFest. Night 1. Lesnar vs Gunther Night 2. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Probably depends on how bad Cody is right? I know he can talk but not sure how serious an injury like that is in terms of time out. Quote
The King of Old School Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 Yeah pretty sure they aren't going to waste Cody/Punk at Backlash. Sounds an ideal Summerslam main event, or I'm wondering if they will save it until Mania and finally give Punk his main event win. WM41, lost in the semi main, WM42, lost in the main, WM43, wins the WWE title in the main for one final run. Seems the logical step for Phil now before hanging them up. I think we might see Sami turn properly this week and start a feud with Cody for the title in the meantime. Quote

Lord knows what the plan is for SaudiMania, but I suspect the main event(s) won't be as simple as good wrestlers having good matches. Quote

With ‘Mania being in Saudi Arabia, I could see them running this one in the States as a make good, and absolutely ramming Wrestlemania with as many legacy stars as would be willing to take part - maybe The Rock, maybe they persuade Austin to wrestle someone, maybe they bring back HBK again - I think it’ll resemble the earlier Crown Jewel shows, assuming they’re even able to hold it there. Retro Red Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Are we forgetting that the feud with Orton clearly isn’t finished and is probably going to run to Backlash at least? Punk/Cody teasing felt like a down the road type thing, maybe a rumble win for Punk and then do it at Mania. Quote

They will hold it there regardless of what's going on in the world I think. Really don't see The Rock or Austin competing, I just think it will be a normal Mania with the usual amount of celebrity involvement. Cody/Punk is a waste out there though, but so was Cena/Punk and they did that. 2 minutes ago, Retro Red said: Are we forgetting that the feud with Orton clearly isn’t finished and is probably going to run to Backlash at least? Paid Members mim731 Posted April 22 Paid Members Posted April 22 No idea what the arc for it happening looks like, but I'd be stunned if Sami Zayn is not in one of the world title matches/main events in Saudi given his popularity out there. Quote

Pinc Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Punk winning the SaudiMania main event is too perfect to not happen. Honestly I’m shocked they finally gave him the main when there’s only another twelve months to run. Quote

They seem to have completely dropped the story in which he’s targeting his first ever World title. I’d love to be wrong, but I don’t think it’s on the cards any time soon. Quote
