Maybe one for the unpopular opinion thread but I’d be close to putting anything attached to The Rock in here now

Young Rock was alright. But his movies have been awful.

Wasn't sure which thread to put this in as it covers so much, but the world was a better place when Voice Actors didn't sabotage their own careers.

TLDR it's a tool to essentially create any line of dialogue in a VA's voice that the VA will not own, but get royalties to depending on how popular they are. Thus a ponzi scheme (click on the tweet to see how 'popular' this is already)

To make it even more fun, the company he's endorsing has been busted passing off another company's work as their own.

They are developing an Avatar MMORPG. Willing to bet now that it will flop.

Looks like it's exclusively on mobile devices as well. That's a huge red flag. Mickey Mouse & James Cameron are off whaling with some pay to win mechanics.

I remember when Americans got all depressed when they couldn’t actually visit Pandora. I’m really interested in how these sequel’s fare. Because at least over here no-one gives a shit about Avatar, but it still seems fairly popular in the US. But it will be 13 years since the first film by the time this sequel comes out. Will people still be THAT bothered?

NFT’s are the new Crypto for the Elon Musk fanboy elites. Just another way for stupid people to pretend they’re going to get rich by working the system. I heard that you don’t even own the rights to the content of the NFT but just that very specific digital code.

Plus the amount of energy consumed keeping things running so you can enjoy your non fungible token is tremendously high. "One transaction uses as much power as the conventional household over a day and a half. As a result, it significantly increases global energy consumption."
