PSF
I half wish I hadn't read that report. It's made me feel very uncomfortable. I hate the thought of anyone have to go through something so horrendous. It breaks my heart to think that all involved are capable of such things. RIP Ashley Massaro.

Loki
This seems to be getting a little more traction on Reddit now and thence social media. Â If this were straw that finally broke the WWE'S back in regards to #metoo it would be, in some small way, justice. I stopped watching WWE for about 5 years after Benoit. Â It feels like a moment to do so again.
LCJ
This wrestling news site is covering the story. Gerweck.net are reporting it too. http://www.wrestling-online.com/wwe/massaros-death-puts-spotlight-on-horrific-affidavit-claiming-she-was-raped-while-with-wwe-overseas-by-u-s-military-member/
The King Of Swing
Haven't read the whole Reddit, but what I have read has been almost wall to wall disgust. Gives me some hope for humanity.

That's a bit much isn't it? The number reported for sexual assaults is around 3.1% for women. Let's assume that 80% of sexual assaults go unreported and we're still only at around 15.5%. Now don't get me wrong, that's still a horrible number but hardly "most women" now is it? I don't mean to play down the seriousness of the issue but IMO inflating the figures only hurts legitimate victims. EDIT: Here's a source for those figures -Â https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/08/sexual-assault-women-crime-survey-england-wales-ons-police-figures Be wary that the headline is a bit sensationalist but the actual figures are stated in the article itself. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted May 20, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) Like pulling the wool on your favourite jumper, you get a sense one little piece could send the whole company down eventually. As wrestling fans, we've sort of accepted for years that the WWE is fucking horrendous. Allowing the Fabulous Moolah to whore people out, covering up the Snuka murder, the Mel Phillips stuff they all knew about, the steroid scandal, the Benoit situation, the amount of deaths on their watch etc. To me if I hear Vince McMahon chalk up a rape as "one bad experience" I dont doubt for a second its true. He really is that cold. He runs a bully boy promotion all because he's basically a small man. He's the most bullied man in the whole company really. He's the one who hates the idea of Hulk Hogan, a racist with no worth to the business anymore, not being under contract to him. He's the one who brought Eric Bischoff back, despite the fact he wanted to see McMahon working in Tescos. Yet if you are loyal to him and never say a bad word against him, he'll double cross you or bully you or embarrass you so he can laugh at your shame. He's a cunt. The mix of being a monopoly where you can control the whole business (including the wrestling media, who are shit scared to uncover the real bad stuff) and the fact wrestling is a joke who nobody really wants to report is the reason they keep getting away with shit. The WWE is a slight step up from Rob Black. Edited May 20, 2019 by IANdrewDiceClay
Yakashi
I just dont think this is going to matter. Nothing seems to. Steroids. Benoit. Eddie. Saudi. John Oliver. Moolah. Snuka. There'll be 10 minutes of outrage and then nothing. They'll get away with it again. They always do.
Paid Members Chris B Posted May 20, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted May 20, 2019 (edited) Gail Kim just liked half the thread, which is, as far as I'm aware, the first person in the industry to acknowledge the story in any way. She's mainly liked the ones about the lawsuit rather than the story itself, but it's still interesting.
