How certain are we that Vince isn't back?

Having a show where the theme is a funeral for a Gingerbread Man start with a "In memory of Ted Turner" feels very loaded.

Think you're reading a bit too much into that.

Fair play to Trick Williams to take something as bad as the Gingerbread Man storyline and turning into gold like that. From the out of tune backup singers, to Wade fighting for his life on commentary, to Gingerbread rising from the dead like The Undertaker. All solid stuff.

Serious question...why did they re-sign Cardona do you think?

I know a lot of people think he's a bit "meh", but I like him and he loves wwe in general so could be a good voice for them...he could definitely occupy the upper midcard, but they seem intent to do nothing except make him look like a joke.

Was it a joke signing? Just because Chelsea is there? To stop him signing an official contract elsewhere?

Cos he's a lower card name that the up and comers can beat.

Yeah I get the logic, but he's lost everything since he's been back so I'm not sure anyone even gets a rub from beating him?

Yeah, he really did make the best of an almost impossible situation.

I think what truly amazes me is WWE don't do dark matches anymore.
In the good old days, after a segment like that, the arena crowd would get a big name match to go home happy.
Now? Nope. That's it. Fuck off.

The closing segment of Smackdown is must-see just for how many fans can be seen fucking off as Trick Williams is singing. Every camera cut, from every angle, you can see people walking up the steps of the arena to beat the traffic. Can’t remember the last time something like that was so noticeable. How bad does an angle have to be to force WWE fans, in 2026, to leave during the main event segment? Tickets alone probably cost three grand!

More of the same with Smackers. Both the Gingerbread Man and Danhausen/Miz/Kit storylines are the shittest, sloppiest, most Vince-pilled bollocks, but there’s still tiny glimpses of greatness within them. They’re getting smaller and rarer by the week, but they’re still there!

The bit where they edited the Gingerbread Man into all the biggest moments from the history of WWE was genuinely brilliant, and then just when you think Danhausen has officially jumped the shark, he runs back past the camera with a charmingly childish, “neeeeeownn.” I’m still in. Just.

I've not watched smackdown since mania so not up to date but what in the world was the gingerbread bollocks

The first time in years I felt embarrassed if my kids walked in when watching it just awful and the main event spot aswell.

They need to look and see the state of the land and how they've made a boom period for the first time in 20 years or so and everything now it's down to corporate greed it's q shit state and declining numbers again nothing else
