Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted March 3, 2020 Awards Moderator Share Posted March 3, 2020 The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez I’ve just finished the first episode and I’m in pieces. I mean genuinely upset and angry in equal measure. There’s no way I can binge watch this; I feel I have to see it through but there’s no way I’ll watch another tonight. I know there are loads of parents on here so, as someone who’s been floored by it without having kids, please be careful if you decide to watch it. SuperBacon
Yeah, that looks like it could be a good documentary (like the French one: can’t remember it’s name), but I’m avoiding that one. Sounds too raw.
CTXRussomark
I'm 4 episodes in and it's pretty harrowing stuff. No way does it need to be this long though. Feels like its constantly going over the same or similar details that don't progress the story at all.
Paid Members Scott Malbranque Posted March 4, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 4, 2020 The Stranger - Don't do it to yizzerselves. I took it on the chin, so nobody else has to. I loathe Harlan Coben.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted March 4, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 4, 2020 Is it that bad? I watched Safe and thought it was ok. The bloke from Four Lions definitely made it though.
Mr_Danger
It's weird seeing shit telly actors in shit bbc/itv style dramas on Netflix. They must be going all out to get the middle aged mums and dads on board.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted March 4, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 4, 2020 It's only a matter of time when they'll have Robson Green and Sarah Lancashire on board. Then ITV will definitely be fucked.
Factotum
Stephen Tompkinson would complete the set. The absolute 100% guarantee that something will be boring.
Mr_Danger
Remember that Idris Elba one where he was an Ibiza DJ who got hired to look after his mates kid. Stringer used to be so cool. I look forward to seeing Stephen Graham in a hair dressing drama or Paddy Considines safari adventures.

The bloke from Four Lions definitely made it though. It's horrendous, Brewster. And I should have known it would be shite because Harlan Coben, and also because all the Love Island and Mrs.Browns Boys lads and ladies in work are saying how amazing it is, but my missus loves that sort of carry on out of the telly, so I had to suffer through it. The twists and reveals are absolutely ludicrous and nonsensical, and not even the wonderful Paul Kaye and the outrageously attractive Hannah John-Kamen can lift it beyond me periodically thinking "If I was a younger man, and not ruined/desensitised by readily available porn, that shot of Hannah John-Kamens' bum in grey tracksuit bottoms while running, would have me in a shite heap". Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted March 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 13, 2020 As mentioned in the DVD thread, new Netflix Original Lost Girls is a really excellent little film, about the Long Island serial killer. They've also just added First Reformed, which is about as good as everyone said it was.
