Between Two Ferns the Movie. 1hr 20 minutes so a short watch. Runs out of steam towards the end but has some pretty funny lines. The credits blooper reel is very fun as well. 6/10

Fuck me, that was good. Really,

really good. That final episode has set up the next series wonderfully, and it could fill the gap left behind by The Wire. A real open-mouth moment when they showed the junkies in the police station- a basic yet brilliant little twist.

I thought series 1 was pretty good but series 2 was a disappointing mess. The reoccurring shots of Asher D sipping out of his tumbler whilst surveying his kingdom was so bloody heavy handed and cringey and all the sub plots were either shit or pointless.

Is it more of that or a return to form?

Definitely more along the lines of the first one- on the streets, everyone has fuck all and trying to make something out of nothing and as several years have passed you have a new generation of slangers.

Asher D is ok but waaaay down the pecking order in terms of characters you'll become invested in here. Some brilliant performances in this.

I'd add the character development is spot-on too - by the end of Series 3, you end up really caring about guys who are nasty as hell, but you kind of want them to be okay. I found myself massively rooting for Atz and his mum in particular, and Sully, of all people.

The change in Sully when he meets his daughter is awesome. DuShane is TopBoy 4 Life, but Sully, i got the feeling he wants more from life and I'm hoping he goes straight and doesn't go to prison again. I'm hoping he didn't kill Driss and just told him to disappear for a while, the shot of Driss' daughter at the end without either of her parents got me. Loved the twist of DuShane getting Jamie out of prison and the junkies in the police station just floored me. I can't wait for Series 4!

Series four of The Good Place started yesterday as well. I'm interested to see how they both end.

I watched these two today. Calibre I liked, the setting and acting were very good. Thought it got off to a good start, I was waiting for a few more twists in the story though which didn't come. I enjoyed it enough. 

Gerald's Game was very good. Carla Gugino is a joy to watch. I found it very enthralling and suspenseful. Stephen King books are very capable of being good films with the right people on board.

I watched Criminal: UK over the weekend and I wouldn't bother if I was you. The third one was OK but nothing really happens in them. There's no real plot to speak of. Just a basic police interview that goes by the book. I was constantly waiting for a twist or big reveal but it just goes to plan and ends.

The only kind of thing that resembles a plot is done so heavy handed and with glaring plot hole, they the writer was told at the end that the episode needs something so that was just chucked in with being thought about properly. It's a shame as it had so much promise. I really liked the actors and the characters that were built in the show, just a shame none of them did anything.

I quite enjoyed Criminal UK for the acting (featuring The Actor Kevin Eldon no less). All 3 suspects were superb. Yeah plots were OK, but I enjoyed the claustrophobia. The only weirdness was getting Jack Bauer vibes from the cutaways to the neon clock. 

I then tried approx 17 seconds of Criminal Spain but the dubbing was about as good as Eddie Murphy's Kung Fu routine.

A bunch of South Park episodes have been added to Netflix over the last couple of days. Hopefully it’ll lead to the full series being made available, but there are some great episodes included in this batch
