Good old Mash N Barrel for ya. Like a more expensive shitter quality Wetherspoons. The onsite chippy is usually even worse.

As for chippy chicken, i still haven't tried one. In theory deep fried chicken should be ace but i think the leaving it in a food incubator for hours probably hinders the taste.

All the chippies local to me cook them fresh to order. Leaving them under the hot light probably isn't the best for them, or any of the food really.

That looks like a Friday night chippy tea my Dad used to bring home about 35 years ago on his way home from work. No fuss, no looking at the menu. Just get the good stuff and get out of the shop. It looks fantastic.

The fish was fantastic. Nice and flaky with a batter that wasn't overly crispy. Chips were good too.
