All Purpose Weather Moaning Thread (hot weather is class)

My school (where I work, to be clear) failed to think ahead, and so yesterday morning all of the children rocked up in ties and blazers. At breaktime those in charge then decided they could remove blazers, and then by lunch time they could shed their ties. 

 

They then made the decision to sensibly allow kids to come to school in their PE Kits today. Sadly the same courtesy was not extended to the staff - I was allowed to remove my blazer and tie; for all the good it did me. 

 

The adult (male) dress code is so archaic. Wearing a blazer, shirt and tie is so stupid - also they've put in a piece about visible tattoos. It's insane that in 2025 there isn't any forward thinking.

 

Don't get me started on the female staff rocking up in summer dresses and flip flops today. Don't need to see the dogs, thank you very much.

What happens if you roll up in shorts and t-shirt? Do you get fined/disciplined?

Same as every summer, the prison service haven’t ordered any fans for the wings so everyone’s kicking off. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe how brutally hot the cells are but fuck me, they are insufferable most of the year, let alone in this type of heat. Assaults on staff always go up in June and don’t let up for a few months. I fucking hate summer in this job.

I have never been happier to see rain predicted, and never more annoyed for it to still be bone dry outside. At least it's an improvement on the last two days - stepping outside felt like standing behind a bus.

It was pissing it down at some point in Croydon early this morning. Very pleasant feeling to walk out of my oven-like block of flats into a wave of cool air.
