DavidB6937
I loved the opener. Felt like one of those really hot matches between two guys who should be the future of the business. Crowd were into absolutely everything they did. Both guys made the most of the opportunity. Made me feel really positive about the future of NXT and WWE. Mostly because younger me always loved some good secondary title feuds.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted February 18, 2020 Awards Moderator Share Posted February 18, 2020 I thought the show was fine, but it suffered for me because I didn't really care who won in any of the matches. Lee vs. Dijakovic was lots of moves and then the end. They were very impressive moves, but Lee was more impressive in his short bursts on the main shows against Reigns and Lesnar than he was here. Nox vs. Kai was good, but the ending confused everyone - I actually thought it was Sonya Deville for a minute, and can't remember Person I Can't Remember from the MYC so she meant nothing to me. Balor vs. Gargano felt padded out to me, like they had a really good fifteen minutes planned and then had to stretch it to 25. Ripley vs. Belair was good, probably my favourite match on the show. Tag Title match was lots of moves and then the end. Again, they were very good moves, but even so, there are only so many times I can see someone pop up unhurt from a German Suplex and 80 times in one match is way beyond my limit. Bobby Fish's move towards silver foxhood is the most interested I've been in him. Cole vs. Ciampa started really well, after all the moves in the previous matches I was enjoying the slow, deliberate pace of it and thought they were telling a good story with Ciampa selling the neck. Then it turned into moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and moves and then the end. Which I didn't mind because it was something a bit different but fuck, if this means more Ciampa and Gargano and Cole in the main event ... some combination of them has been main eventing for two years now. I've had enough!
RIDDUM_N_STYLE
I’ve gave it a lot of thought since watching the show about the Gargano turn and the fact he wore that new DIY tee, I’m wondering wether this is going to be some sort of ruse between Ciampa and Gargano to sucker in Cole/Balor and have a fatal 4 way at either Takeover Tampa or on Mania itself, where they pull a finish similar to when Sting left AJ to win the Impact title at No Surrender 09, where they get Cole in a position to lose by doing the ‘Meet in the Middle’, have the staredown like it’s come down to them then Gargano does a dive to the outside on Balor/UE to allow Ciampa to hit Cole with the ‘Fairy Tale Ending’ to win Goldie back

He's so unnatural, it's like every thing he says he's wrote down beforehand to purely try and shout over everyone else. "R-E-S-P-E-C-T, THAT IS WHAT THAT BELT MEANS TO NXT" was the one that got me last night. i'll take that over a guy constantly repeating lines that are fed to him through headphones all night. Loki
Full of praise for Lee v Dijakovic. Was it pretty? No, it was hella awkward in places and was (as said above) just a sequence of big moves. But it reminded me of old ECW matches, Mike Awesome or someone, in that it was just so much chaotic FUN. Two big beefy boys going at it. There's a place for that in wrestling, I loved it, as did the crowd. It's also a great piece of booking as both guys come out elevated by the match. Dijakovic has got over the old-fashioned way - by working his arse off. I wasn't convinced initially but he's won me over through sheer effort. Obviously they have 'pushed' him more recently, but there was certainly a time where he felt completely irrelevant and lost in the shuffle. I'm really glad he managed to connect with the audience and get where he is now.
Snitsky's back acne
I think the only negative for me, and this is likely just me getting old, was that I was worn out from all the big moves and false finishes by match number 3 that I kind of became a little desensitised to it all by the end. I know thats the style these days and its fine for one or two matches in my opinion but a whole card can be very draining for a knackered old fart like me. That's why I was enjoying the Ciampa/Cole match when it first started. They really slowed the pace down and it felt like a good psychological match. Shame it didn't last. Paid Members Supremo Posted February 18, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2020 I sense this is the case for a lot of people. He’s really starting to feel undeniable. Other than maybe Samoa Joe, who else in that company could deliver the material he’s been given these past few weeks so effectively?
UK Kat Von D
Takeover was a great show, but it always is. They’ve set the bar so high for Takeover style matches that it’s getting harder to impress me. If any of these matches were on any other card they could steal the show. Instead it all just blurs together. Such a weird complaint to have, I just want to see something different and the big matches to feel big. It is every match blatantly try to be great. I’ve gotten into the habit of just ignoring the first half of the main events and playing on my phone. I don’t buy most of the near falls anymore. Imagine how fresh it would be for them to have a Lesnar/Goldberg type that can destroy anyone within five or ten minutes. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve stopped watching the weekly show since it went to two hours. It’s out of my schedule now since they started showing it on a different day
Mr Butternut Squash
What is this Riddle/Brock situation? Work/shoot? Is Heyman just stirring things up? Either way I don’t see Vince ‘getting’ Riddle in any way.

Doesn’t really matter if Vince gets him, Brock is one of the few guys that will get his own way regardless. If Brock wants to wrestle him he will, and if he wants a competitive match he’ll get it. Between Herman’s endorsement and his legit MMA background I reckon he would want the match. I reckon Brock would probably get a kick out of showing up on NXT as well. He’d love watching the NXT crowd pop for him like crazy and then boo when they remember they aren’t supposed to like him. Plus right now we could get a fun spot where Brock has to let a submission go to stop Dunne from breaking Heyman’s fingers at ringside Edited February 18, 2020 by UK Kat Von D
SuperBacon
Beth mentioning “ACL, MCL, PCL” and Nigel saying “Ow-CL”...just fuck off mate. Gargano looks horrendous. I can’t grow a proper beard and don’t attempt to as it looks like pubes. He should heed this advice.

DavidB6937
I'm all for long term storytelling but they fucked up Ciampa/Gargano and just about managed to get through the other side without damaging either guy. Johnny Wrestling even seemed to be back on track. Why they thought it was then a good idea to turn him heel again I have no idea. They don't have many outright terrible ideas but this just isn't necessary.
