If you don't like that, then you won't enjoy it or get it. It's no issue, there's plenty more elsewhere that won't permiete your preferred tastes. He does the names OK but when he was explaining the stipulations etc. it was odd, like he can't turn ring announcer voice on and off mid sentence. Aside from the Je'Von Evans name flub he was fine though. I found it very amusing that Meltzer can't stand him and thinks he should be a heel ring announcer. Really rubbed ol' Dave up the wrong way. Women's Chamber Bit of a formality this one. Rhea vs Jade is obviously the match. Was a bit disappointed with Khiana James. She did fine and she was in it for a while and she got the crowd behind her a bit after initially getting zero reaction. However, she only got the pin on Bliss due to the mist and didn't have any particularly memorable highlight moments in this for me. Felt like a bit of a missed opportunity to get something else out of this match when the overall winner was quite obvious. I liked the Ripley/Bliss exchange of them scrambling to hit their respective finishing moves. It looked awkward and scrappy in a good, struggle-y sort of way. Raquel had an excellent showing; beastly power offense, the big powerslam through the pod, impressive feats of strength and everyone bumped like maniacs for her. Was notable that her elimination drew some boos as she'd been such a good monster in the match. Decent outing from Tiffy but she doesn't feel as hot as she did on my last few WWE viewings She's exciting to watch and has some star power but she doesn't strike me as a natural babyface and the character isn't a natural babyface one either. Her whole persona works better as a bratty heel, so they need to add more to it than the catchphrase or she might cool off a bit. But yeah, lots of fun to watch in the ring and she bumps like crazy. This was fine and had the correct result. Fascinated by Rhea vs Jade. It's a match that makes a ton of sense on paper but will need heating up and will of course require Jade to hold up her end in the biggest match of her career. I'd love them to just throw big bombs for ten minutes and settle it like monsters. Men's Chamber Three guys wearing gold and white gear. Sort it out chaps. Great superstar entrance for Trick Williams. Didn't do much in the match though. LA Knight going from botch into low blow into elimination was very unfortunate. Logan Paul the clear MVP of a pretty dull and uneventful match. Massive pop for shitarse Rollins but maybe it's just because they like singing his song. They like to sing the songs. Orton the most over guy in the match by some distance. Cody appears to have cooled off quite a bit and looked like quite the buffoon at the end. Other Danhausen's debut was fun. I liked the shit pyro and it's cute that his wife was leading the dancehausens. I skimmed through Becky and AJ Lee, seemed like an OK-ish TV match. I watched Punk's entrance because I love a Punk Chicago entrance but it didn't feel as spine tingly as I'd hoped. The chants before his music started were booming but then they all just sang the song. They like to sing the songs. It was some stuff that was on my screen for an hour or so. How long have they been doing that thing where every time someone enters the Elimination Chamber at the start they have to walk around and acknowledge everyone else already in a pod? Felt like the new forced trope. Rubbish. Rhea vs. Jade is perfect for Wrestlemania in the sense it’ll look amazing as a graphic on a poster, but Rhea’s got her work cut out for her to drag anything impressive out of Jade. Easily AJ Lee’s best performance since returning. I expected very little from her based on previous outings, and the fact I’ve never particularly rated her, but thought her match with Becky was surprisingly alright. Punk vs. Balor wasn’t as good as their Raw match, but still one of Punk’s better matches in WWE. A combination of having great chemistry with Balor and finally managing to perfectly incorporate being a washed old wreck into the psychology of his matches. I honestly can’t tell what’s real and what isn’t anymore, but based on how knackered and destroyed Punk looked at the end of this match, you’d think he’s clinging on for that final match at Wrestlemania, similar to Stone Cold leading into Wrestlemania 19. Meltzer reporting that bringing Danhausen in, “wasn’t unanimous,” and he has his detractors, so I wouldn’t be shocked if an element of that debut was him being set up to fail. It is very out of the ordinary for WWE to debut a brand new character like that, with no vignettes to build knowledge or familiarity. Could completely buy the idea that someone specifically designed it in a way that they could then declare they were right about him being crap all along. Men’s Chamber was dull as fuck. A match built around Logan Paul in 2026 is not it. Completely exposed as a one hit wonder. Negative novelty watching him be a below average full-timer. Ronda Rouseyed. Remember when HBK interfered in that Elimination Chamber to cost The Undertaker and it felt super clever and exciting that they found a way to have someone break into the Chamber and play a part in the finish? Feels like a lifetime ago. I haven’t gone back and looked but I swear the last three or four years has seen interference play into the finish of Chamber matches. They don’t even try to come up with clever ideas anymore, either. Lads just walk through the door. Lazy shite. Oh, to be as smug as Paul Heyman, thinking you’re a good actor doing the SHOCKED FACE for the most obvious reveal of all time. What?! The masked man ended up being…the only logical person it could ever possibly be?! Paul Heyman when the sun rises in the morning. Paul Heyman when Tuesday follows Monday. Paul Heyman when ECW wrestlers expect to get the money owed to them. Fair play to Seth, he got a big pop, but as is always the case with him it’s all downhill from here. I dread to imagine him and Heyman doing promos on each other. Also quite funny that by the time Seth came back for his revenge, none of the original Vision were left. Borderline made him feel heelish, attacking people who never did anything to him! Reports suggest they’re hopeful Breakker can be back for Wrestlemania. I’ll laugh when he returns in the black hoodie and balaclava. Then. Now. Forever. Will also be funny them pretending to not know who it is. Who is this massive, jacked Masked Man running at ridiculous speeds, constantly landing on his head?! On the plus side, Seth returning at least means he can sit in Gorilla and watch first-hand when Roman and Punk have a seminal feud without him, hopefully finally admitting to himself that he’s absolutely dog shit and everything is forever improved for him not being involved. This feels a bit like seriously asking "but if Roger Rabbit could have simply got out of those handcuffs at any time, why didn't he?" Nobody ever sells Orange's slow kicks as actually dangerous. They're generally mild mockery or frustrating to heels. But Orange was a face, and Sting joined in to show some respect to Cassidy. And because the crowd would enjoy it and Sting is a face who is up for doing something a little silly if it gives people a good time. It isn't meta. It's not that complicated. Quote

It'll seem even worse when he's looking at the lights on Main Event about 6 weeks from now. They sounded non-plussed last night at the arena, I was very non-plussed in my front room as I stayed up until 3am to see the bastard thing when I had work in the morning. And I went to bed straight afterwards, after having a quick slash. There's a place for him probably (like I said, perfect to do the job for pushed talent), but he's not BIG SURPRISE material.
