People were at it online just the other week too because Mo Salah’s tribute to Jota wasn’t posted online quick enough for them rather than, you know, just let the guy grieve. A crock of bullshit quite frankly and if people or companies want to post a tribute then they can. If people or companies don’t, so what.

You’re totally right, and I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying outside of it being tribal. It’s become a cultural obligation to pay tribute to people of stature within an industry, and when it doesn’t happen, I think it’s just a case of people being upset at norms not being followed as opposed to it being an AEW vs WWE thing.

It's crazy to think just how over Hogan was at his peak. When I was in early years of primary school, I dont think there was a boy in my class who didn't own at least one of the Hogan Hasbro's. Mad to think about really. My best friend at the time had Hogan / Warrior WALLPAPER in his bedroom. 

Honestly he was right there with MJ, Super Mario, Arnie, Mickey Mouse etc in terms of instantly recognisable. I was talking to a friend about this earlier. He mentioned that when Hogan popped up in Gremlins, everyone would have just been like "oh that's Hulk Hogan". 

A ludicrous man. Impossible to really sum up in a few words. The unbelievable run on top, the crap movies and TV shows, the insane lies, the steroid scandal, the NWO, the reality show, the sporadic returns for huge matches, the sex tape stuff, the racism. Total highest of highs and lowest of lows stuff.

Technically not from the eighties, because the attire and flag is from 1991, but that actually makes it more iconic because that's the year that the WWF hit big in the UK, so this is one of the default images of the time.

I think complicated would be the world to describe the feeling of Hogan's death. And its a word you hear constantly at moment in regards to the Hulkster. You can never unhear those words or all the bad things he's done. But at the same time, I know I wouldnt be a wrestling fan without him. And wrestling has enhanced my life because I've loved it so much and got so much joy from it. I was way more prepared for Hogan's death than I was Randy Savage. I remember posting on here years ago when Macho Man died and being choked up because he represented so many memories of when I was a kid. Piper dying gave me similar thoughts. Hogan did as well, but the shell had been cracked with Randy's death.

The sad thing is, they're probably all trash people arent they? All of them. The ones we hate, the ones we love. All of them have probably done things that we'd hope to see them thrown into a burning building due to their behaviour. It's a strange place to be in, considering when we admired these people, it was not because they were people. It was because they were giant action figures. Larger than life people, who never did anything wrong. So deep inside you, that is the default feeling you have of Terry Bollea or Randy Poffo. You see him as the Macho Man. Not the suspected paedophile who beat up Hawk and his wife by blindsiding them at a Kid Rock concert. I mean imagine that? Like Kid Rock?
