Series 1 was great but this was an upgrade for me. Bigger, tanner and could throw punches. Definitely way better than the Bearhug one and the spring punch one that looked like he hadn’t seen a tanning bed or steroid in five years. All the other Hulks were retired for me when this beast came along.

I've been a non-posting/logged in user on here for 15-20 years, but the passing of Hulk is significant enough for me to find a login and make a comment.

Yes, he said stuff he shouldn't, but I mean if we're judging 80's or 90's wrestlers on their actions/words/ethics/morals, well...would there be anyone left to like?

Irrespective, his monumental achievements far outweigh the negatives.
A true childhood hero and a huge loss to wrestling.

Sure his reputation was severely damaged in the past few years or so, but no one can deny the impact he had in wrestling and popular culture as a whole.

Cannot help but think all those rumours about his health over the past couple of months, which were denied by close Hogan allies were true after all

Hogan in the 80s was just an incredible pro wrestler, insane charisma and big time aura. Love watching his PPV, SNME and the televised house show matches from MSG, Boston, Philly etc. Everything wrestling should be in its larger than life majesty. His 93 comeback was terrible and hated his first few years in WCW but the way he embraced being a cowardly stooge as Hollywood Hogan was amazing.

I had this and ruined it. Black permanent marker all over the yellow and NWO written in tipp-ex across the body.

Wow, this one hurts.....and just after losing Ozzy. Hulk Hogan was my favourite as a kid and in my teenage years. Through the WWF years and the Monday Night Wars.

Wrestlings GOAT, without question in my mind. Few wrestlers can lay claim to tramforming the business, certainly Hulk Hogan is the only one to lay claim to doing it twice.

If you're in your 40s like me, you probably fell in love with wrestling watching the Hulkster. Wrestlemania 7,8 and 9..... I remember watching Wrestlemania 8 round some friends house the day after it happened.....a young school kid jumping up and down on the sofa in excitement, being told off and to calm down.

Would this forum exist without the Hulkster? I doubt it. 

He was the catalyst for 2 pivotal eras, not responsible for them, but the catalyst for both. Firstly the rise of WWF to international prominence, the end of the territory system and entering mainstream culture with Vince. Secondly creating the formula of what we consider modern wrestling to be today - Nitro, live weekly episodic edgy wrestling TV, which he did with Eric Bischoff. Both eras define the modern product.

Did he fuck up much of his legacy in his later years? Some would say so, but Hogan even seemed to be able kick out of cancel culture before being counted out, because Hulk Hogan wasn’t just a wrestler, he was the larger than life symbol of the industry for so long. An industry that has given each of us so much joy.

So today, I want to remember the 24-inch pythons and pop for "Real American" one last time. I'm off to the pub to raise a pint to honor the man who changed the business forever. Thank you Terry Bollea.

For me, it’s not about who he was, it’s who he became - he could have learned from his mistakes or made efforts to be better but he didn’t. There are wrestlers - including ones from that era - who have become advocates for minority groups and the LGBTQ+ community. 

I don’t think anyone is wrong to be feeling gutted about his death though, particularly those who have lost part of their childhood through his passing. For me, it’s simply saying goodbye to a tainted legacy.

He was making fucked up racist comments about Kamala Harris just last year at Trump rally's.

The Gawker stuff was far from a one off.

He is up there there in fucking up your legacy as a legend.
