Oh it's absolutely the biggest wrestling death possible apart from VKM.

There's a massive black (sorry Terry) cloud over him as a person and his legacy but we wouldn't be where we are now without Hulkamania.

I was too young for prime Hogan or WCW Hogan & only really caught his WWF comeback in 2002. His match with Rock at Mania and the crowd reaction in Montreal were obviously great moments, as was him out manoeuvring Triple H and dicking him out of the undisputed title not a month into his run. The years after showed him up for being a lying, racist, Trump supporting scumbag, but I suppose that isn't unique in the wrestling business. Poetic justice that his last WWE appearance saw him booed out of the building. Ultimately he was a household name, made big money and was a major part of kicking off the mainstream appeal of wrestling in the 80's and the boom of the mid 90's. RIP.

I know people aren’t the biggest Cornette fans on here, but there’s a couple of great videos on YouTube where he and his co host go through all his lies which is pretty funny for a Cornette video. The interview where he said a make a wish kid died at Wembley stadium during his Summerslam match is a particular highlight. Michael Jackson was there too apparently.

You should just buy Stuart Millard's book instead since that's where it was all hoofed from.

Yeah when the Vodoo Kin Mafia go it really will be big news.

Like everyone has said, despite his recent behaviour, he was a childhood hero and those are memories that stay with you. More makes ya sad for an era/childhood gone as opposed to caring about the person as much anymore.

A lot of hate for him on Twitter and people being pleased. Totally get why people hate a racist, but always found it odd that people like Lawler, Flair, Michael’s and even Austin have some checkered pasts/rumours regarding behaviour to women, yet still get cheered and praised. But then wrestling never makes sense fully.

It’s a comfort though to know that somewhere in the world right now, a black baby is being born with the soul of Hulk Hogan.

Michaels and Austin get more of a pass because they genuinely turned their lives around and (as far as I'm aware) have kept their noses clean for the last 20 years. Hogan got caught being a racist prick, never really showed any remorse for it, then doubled down on it all with the whole MAGA gimmick over the past few years. I don't find the different treatment to be odd whatsoever. I also think there absolutely is a similar sentiment towards Flair, though I agree it's not as extreme as with Hogan.

Given how much he meant to the industry (and to me growing up) I feel almost guilty for not feeling more when I heard the news, but he's spent so long tarnishing his legacy that I just don't have strong feelings either way.

I agree. Hard to feel anything either way. More sad looking back on all those that have gone and a truly bygone era

I can understand maybe how Stone Cold has turned his life around and deserves a second chance, but if the stories of Michael’s drugging women is true, no amount of Hail Marys and finding god can change that.

It’s so sad that a character, who represented, for me as a child, the underdog overcoming the giant, all about the fans, the Hulkamaniacs and being for everyone, then ended up becoming the opposite. He let a lot of people down.
