SaitoRyo Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Really chuffed with that win last night. I thought Ramsey's sending off was really harsh, since there was contact and he didn't actually dive/claim for a pen. The Man Utd players surrounded the ref and convinced him otherwise and he got an unjust second yellow. They then scored in the ninth minute of the three added on at the end of the half. Just awful. But we played well with 11 and 10 men. Incredible shift from the lads and Man Utd just didn't seem to want it on the night. Happy for Osula, who scored a quite stunning Mbappe esque solo goal to settle it. Quote

I thought we might come unstuck against Newcastle - as I've said before, this season is crazily competitive, with everyone tearing points off each other from second to about fifteenth. There's something still annoyingly complacent about our players, even after all the bad records broken and the sheer number of managers gone through. But, more importantly, it's impressive just how well Newcastle played - I've often heard it said it's harder to play against ten men than eleven, and they demonstrated why. Quote

Weirdly, despite how shocking Spurs have been lately, I have a strange feeling you beat Palace tonight. Just one of those things, and not saying it makes sense, but I reckon Tudor finds a way to dig in and this is the point from which you turn it around somewhat. Much as it would be hilarious to see Spurs go down, I think they'll scrape safety somehow by virtue of getting just enough points and the other teams around them being slightly more shit in the last few games. To get a letoff in the form of Palace's disallowed goal, score themselves and then completely capitulate within a twelve-minute period, is incredible. Part of me still thinks that, with nine games to go, they'll sort it out because they are 'too big to go down', but their form is shocking and they really don't look up for the fight. Reminds me of us (Newcastle) in 2008/09 in some ways. Plus, they've got pretty much every neutral willing them to relegation because it would be funny, especially in a season where Arsenal could realistically win the title (although you suspect their bottle job is still very much on). What an odd choice to bring in when you're in the shit and he's lost two incredibly winnable games. Spurs have got to go to Liverpool, Chelsea and Villa which is quite daunting, have Brighton and Everton at home which would be a big chance for 6 points for any Spurs team but this one, have Sunderland and Wolves away, which is similar and then two massive games at home to Forest and Leeds. Going to be some end to the season. Genuinely, I'd bet on the most mediocre of Spurs teams getting 17 points from that lot. Barely see this lot getting 6. Quote
