Sure you've had glimmers like Poch, CL final, Bilbao, but there are two genuinely world class players that go hand in hand with most of that, Kane and Son. People say "Well Spurs DO spend" well, no they don't. Not in the metrics you should be looking at, they dont. So you've got players who quite frankly are lower Prem/Championship level. So what do people expect? You've then also got people at the top, on the board, and in some of the most important jobs who are not football people. You've seen it with Ratcliffe as well, they cannot operate within the sporting sector. Give Levy his shit fair play, but at least the bald bastard was a Spurs fan. And then you've got the decision to keep Frank so long, not bring in players during another major injury crisis, and hope that'll work. I honestly don't know what planet these people live on. Football clubs are the most bizarre businesses ever. Also you've got a group of players who just look beaten. Poor old Archie Gray and Mathys Tel, absolutely working their socks off. And you've also got no one at the club who really gets the club, apart from Maddison, and he's been out all season. Getting rid of Son cannot be underestimated for just how much of a presence he was. Spurs are definitely not too big to go down, and all of the above has contributed to this. You can't just say "well they're a rich club, what's the issue?" The issues are multiple, and have been for years. And yeah I say I don't care, and I think its actually more apathy and the fact I saw us win the Europa League in May, but it's alarming just how little I care. That's my fucking football club. And like you say, Gray always puts a shift in. I hope they're able to turn things around before they're forced to sell him, or he wants to go. Another, selfish reason I don't want them to go down: they're the club of my home borough, Haringey. Arsenal are closer as the crow flies, but they're filthy Islingtonians. For a proud Haringian like myself, it's good to have a big club generating cultural and economic wealth for a borough frequently underfunded by Tory governments, and often ignored by New Labour ones. Another player I think we miss out there who would be putting the graft in is Ben Davies. No star player, but he'd be running into the ground game in, game out to try and show how much he cares too. Get rid of Tudor today and bring in Harry and Defoe. Or at least someone that can get them in a room and tell them 'you've got 9 games to save your careers and this club. Spurs finished in the top 6 for 13 out of 15 seasons and in the top 10 for 19 out of 20 until last year. They've missed out on Europan football in 2 seasons since 2005. They're not a club that have been sleepwalking towards relegation, for all their faults. Last season has some plausibility around their league form. I still doubt you'd find any expert who thought Spurs would finish in the bottom half this season though, let alone the bottom 3. It's been an insane decline in two and half seasons. Less than 3 years ago, they won the first 10 games of the season - without Harry Kane - and looked like the best team in the country. Recruitment is a clear issue but there's still no way that they have a bottom half squad, even with injuries.
