It's already happening, just look at AI data centers in America and it's literally poisoning the water supply and raising the heat surrounding said centers essentially changing the ecosystem. Quote

Oh in case get rid of AI or limit it to analytical stuff only and try ban it for creative stuff. Quote

I might be in liberal echo chamber, but it seems like people are getting angrier and angrier about this weekly, and because they're most frequently being stuck in rural red districts, i can see it having a real effect in the midterms. You've gone from wanting to set up your own AI business to banning it in a few hours. I thought I was prone to extreme swings but fair play. Quote

The bubble is bursting as we speak. I’d be half tempted to actually mention it to them, but I’m convinced that if you’re thick enough to think this stuff looks good to begin with then you’re too thick to ever think otherwise. Anyone know where this specific style actually comes from? I've heard Canva, but I can't imagine most people doing this slop are using Canva. It feels like it must be that Facebook offers to make a poster when you do an event and that's how everyone ends up with the same poster style, but I've never confirmed that. Should also add that if you do these posters I think you are lazy, but if you are a restaurant and do this rather than use actual photos of your food I am steering well clear. Our local curry house had one which had an AI generated image of what was literally a bowl of red slop. Edited July 27 by JNLister Quote

The resident cartoon style is "Joan Cornella," and the resident long-form writing style is "the human interest report at the end of the news about a little boy who was brought back from the brink by caring for a lovely fox" Quote

The world is crumbling as it is. Let's not make it worse. I am changing my mind for a good reason and I apologies for saying AI is good. You were right. Quote

Don’t know but it’s prevalent in loads of tech documentation. People (and their AI agents) use it all the time in Confluence and wiki documentations and I don’t know if I have some form of dyslexia, but as soon as I see emoji peppered in text, I just can’t focus on the content despite being able to read “regular” text just fine. I just can’t scan copy as my eyes just get stuck looking at the emoji and trying to discern its meaning in that instance. Edited July 28 by Your Fight Site Quote

Had completely forgotten until I seen your post, but I used to rip my mate constantly about this about a decade ago, so pre-AI. Now, much like his semi-active LinkedIn activity at the time, he made it clear to me that using this style of writing was causing him great difficulty at looking at himself in the mirror each morning. He sent me a couple of screenshots of his emoji bullet pointing on his work Intranet and I was absolutely dying from the second-hand embarrassment. Just one of those things you were expected to do to get along, I guess. Quote

We have 5 local pubs in out village, and EVER SINGLE ONE have posters like this. Virtually the same when it comes to the World Cup ones. They are all so similar that I was wondering if someone is selling an AI service where they will generate their posters/marketing dirt cheap and all 5 signed up. Its so boring and uninspiring. Quote

It'll be one of the locals, proper 4 ball Paul type telling them how he's going into the graphic design business and can save them a fortune by doing all their promotional material in exchange for a couple of free pints.
