It's going in my will and I'm letting my family know that the photo for my order of service/memorial is not to go through the AI blender. 

The photo on the order of service for a friend's funeral was such an AI glowup that they were barely recognisable to me due to their newly shaped face and Turkey teeth.  The more I looked, the less it looked like them, but I didn't really feel like I could kick up a stink during "All Things Bright and Beautiful."

Had to do our annual Whistleblowing training last week. One of the things we're told to whistleblow about is if we are aware of "an imminent threat of damage to the environment".

Thinking of doing it over the fact everyone in senior leadership is banging on about wanting everyone to use AI for absolutely everything.

At the risk of going off topic by going on topic, if some guy on YouTube can do this now:
 

then in five years or so, will WWE even bother filming shows? Once AI video sorts out physics of movement properly,  what's the chances NXT becomes the place where you don't just ;earn the house style, but your matches are filmed to get the training data, and then Raw and Smackdown and PPVs are just all AI. You get a one-off license payment, never wrestle again, and just spend your days doing meet and greets. Wrestlers never retire, they just stop having matches generated if their view count is down. Nobody ever gets injured. Nobody ever goes out of contract. Nobody ever refuses to do a job. And the whole broadcast is fake fake matches.

When you say "some guy on youtube can do this now" - what do you mean by "this"? Because all I see is unappealing slop, and surely once the novelty of stuff like that is gone, what possible interest could there be? As far as I know, people don't watch video game match ups in their millions on youtube, and there would be no difference between AI generated matches at that. 

I'm sort of sick of these dumb AI talking points to be honest.

I don't see AI video generation ever evolving beyond that kind of slop, but on the WWE front, I have thought for a while now that if they could figure out a way to monetise existing IPs in perpetuity without having to hold live events, they would never run a wrestling show again. I don't think that will be AI matches as a matter of course, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them try and gimmick together "The First Ever AI WWE Match" as a thing.

It's a live event business. Full of people who want to perform live in front of fans. There's only so much any company will get away with using AI before it becomes a major issue for those working for them and the fans.

Yes, for all a promoter's fantasies about removing performers from their payroll, if you actually remove that element, then you've actually got nothing interesting to sell. I'm reminded of NFTs. A lot of hype that forgets the one important element - people actually need the thing to exist for it to be valuable.

I broadly agree that even WWE won't let AI carry the very fabric of its presentation (to be read in a Vince McMahon 1997 addressing the fans voice) but I can easily see them bringing it in as a sort of one-match-a-show gimmick for a couple of months until the inevitable backlash. With the sheer quantity and variable quality of content they have to produce, it seems obvious to me that they'll eventually try a once-in-a-lifetime legends match that can only now be done in AI form, replete with heavy sponsoring (including the AI tools used to make the fans wildest dreams come true etc) and tie-ins of some kind.

They're the exact kind of company to find AI really, really cool and I'm not convinced there's not a meaningful segment of their happy-to-spend core fanbase who might feel the same within certain limitations. If there's money on the table, they'll give it a bash. 

I mean...it's like you lot don't want Bossman to win the Rumble anymore.

From a pure business organisational perspective perhaps, but my point was more about performers wanting to perform in front of audiences. Covid times were a necessary evil. If they were forced to perform without crowds forever? No one would stick around.

Fun and stupid game to play with LLMs (assuming you're OK with burning the planet etc), though you need one of the better models. Tell it to write a counterfactual history starting with the Tories getting 10 fewer seats/Labour 10 more in 2017 (so May's DUP deal doesn't get her a majority.) Correct any continuity or factual errors, but otherwise just keep telling it to continue every time it tries to wrap up. See how wild an outcome you can get to.

My best result so far is getting the UK remaining in the EU and adopting full PR in 2032. Unfortunately the new Labour/Lib Dem/Green/People's Alliance (Corbyn & co) coalition is led by Wes Streeting, Scotland has gone independent, and Wales has already voted to do the same.
