I get it, you're a football coach not a graphic designer, but it's so off-putting and generic, I'd rather nothing than creating that. Yeah, this is a big pet peeve for me too. I've asked all our coaches not to use it. When you scroll through our local FA's page on Facebook, every ad is the same. It's hard to tell what team it is half the time. I insist we use our own template. It's not brilliant, because I'm not a graphic designer, but it's unmistakably ours and it matches the branding. I like that it really stands out amidst all the same old AI stuff too. I saw a few of ours using it and let it go but the final straw for me was when I saw a poster AI had generated that had a motto on it. I'm sure there was nothing wrong with the motto but we have our own. We ran a competition for our kids to come up with it, had a vote and it's a massive part of the graphics that are all over our new clubhouse and all of our social media. Then you see our coaches posting stuff that just has some random motto on it. Being completely fair, I should say as I'm forced to use AI more and more in my real job, much of the above is not AI at fault. It's the use of it by people who are uncreative. Someone who understands it could make sure it knows our colours and fonts, our badge, our motto and maybe chuck examples of our template at it and come up with something better than the same shit everyone else gets from one line in ChatGPT. It's not just football. I went to a food festival on Saturday - was good - but 50%+ of the stalls had AI logos and posters. It's everywhere. I get why, in isolation, they think it looks good but surely when they're at events, they see everyone with the same shit? Edited July 27 by tiger_rick Quote

I banged out this in about 30 minutes for a gig later in the year, I find having a concept is worth just as much if not more actual "good art". I was thinking "this looks like Sega Saturn box art" before I'd scrolled down far enough to see the Sega Saturn logo, so something you already have over generative AI there is a clear understanding of visual identity and direction. 1 hour ago, wordsfromlee said: I fucking hate that big paint stroke with the writing on that all AI posters and thumbnails have these days. It’s everywhere. At least it’s an obvious indicator of when someone has used AI though. I absolutely can't stand it. There's a pub in Jersey I used to drink in, and their Facebook is now nothing but dogshit AI posters and graphics that have the same shit sepia filter, the same three or four fonts, the same layout, as every other fucker doing this. I was in Keswick a couple of months ago, popped into a pub for a drink, and saw AI posters all over the walls that were identical to what this other pub was doing, just generic boilerplate stuff that doesn't stand out at all. The pub in Jersey, though, they post an AI-generated image of taps to show what beer they've got on that day. Why not just take a photo of the actual taps in your actual pub? This is the one that gets me the most, though: It's not just the insane hallucinations of whatever AI thinks mustard, piccalilli and relishes look like, or that the picture of a pub in the background has a sign saying "The The Lamplighter", it's that this is for a pub that's on a busy road in the middle of the capital. It looks nothing like this imaginary rural pub in the picture. Some of their other posters have a completely fictitious pub interior in the background. If I ever see the landlord again, I'd want to ask him why he's using pictures of a completely fictitious pub rather than photos of his actual pub - why is he trying to sell me on a pub that doesn't exist? It's also a pub with, historically, really strong and consistent branding, and a (locally) pretty iconic logo. That logo appears on none of these AI graphics, it just makes up new ones instead. I can't get my head around why he would be happy to just throw away decades of brand recognition for this shit - I always assumed that commercial art would be the death of AI because it wouldn't be able to consistently keep the same visual language, house style, and brand identity that good commercial art requires. It never occurred to me that people would just overnight stopping giving a shit about any of that! Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 27 Paid Members Posted July 27 I used it when I needed to write a letter relating to student finance and wanted to make sure it had a sufficiently formal tone, but I'd drafted the letter first and just asked it for a quick once over. That said, if I'd had the time I would have preferred to ask a real human whether it read ok. Quote

The richest, strangest motherfuckers on the planet - who are anti human in plain sight - do get helped out, though. I can tell you that the job market in it at present is nowhere near as buoyant as its made out to be, and it'll eat itself within a few years. It's how cyber security was a few years ago, and no matter how many government funded skills bootcamps and the like are thrown at people, the jobs just ain't there. This may change but I don't think significantly, and I think current employees being trained up in anything like that, will definitely be how employers move. Yeah AI is the flavour of the month but I don't want to use AI to get a job working for someone else. I want to use it in starting my own business because I feel like people starting their business is the way to go moving forward. AI is going to sadly kill a lot of businesses and industries and also cause a lot of people to lose jobs. Businesses will embrace it because they will save money and have more money for themselves. Normal people who don't have their own businesses will hate it because it will make it even harder to get a job. I am just sharing my opinion. I am sorry if it is annoying people. I aint saying I am right. Just giving my take on things. Quote

I also do somewhat agree with you in that yes if you're a small business owner and doing everything on your own, you probably will get more mileage out of generative AI than others. Doesn't mean I like it, but I understand. I think it should really be used for important things like science and health, and how many times Tony said "Jesus Christ" in The Sopranos. Quote

You don't have to use it, but if you actively want to and believe in it then just own that angle. Analytical AI will be great but yeah generative AI will just become bland and annoying over time. I use ChatGPT when I want to start a new FM24 save( I aint playing FM26. It is s..t) and I use it as a buffer for my ideas and ask it for suggestions on teams to manage etc. I even got ChatGPT to give me tactical advice etc. It enhanced my enjoyment for a game that I have now been playing for 3 years. 9 minutes ago, DavidB6937 said: I will just say this - I'm not a big fan of 'well it's going to happen anyway so I might as well do it' you know?
