The only thing I have to add to this is to say that the AI generated posters made now are so much better then they were even 12 months a go. They could make the posters better by putting some decent prompts in to try make it look more unique and looking less like AI. I am a bit byiest as I love AI. I know it has it's bad points but it helps people out. People value their time and if they can save time by using AI they will do it. I am learning as much as I can about AI because eventually I want to start making money from using it. Just my opinion though and I respect the reason why you don't like AI. It does eliminate creativity and individualism. Quote

Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted July 27 Paid Members Posted July 27 I quite enjoy that my social circle includes a lot of creative so day to day I don't have to deal with too much AI generated slop and I've stopped using it myself for a long time now too after I realised the damage it caused. It does make me want to learn to do graphics though, just to help a few friends out who still use AI for their business and God it just all looks the bloody same. Quote

I can tell you that the job market in it at present is nowhere near as buoyant as its made out to be, and it'll eat itself within a few years. It's how cyber security was a few years ago, and no matter how many government funded skills bootcamps and the like are thrown at people, the jobs just ain't there. This may change but I don't think significantly, and I think current employees being trained up in anything like that, will definitely be how employers move. Quote

That's what I did, I'm no expert but I'm slowly finding my own style even if it looks sloppy it's 100% my vision. I banged out this in about 30 minutes for a gig later in the year, I find having a concept is worth just as much if not more actual "good art". Quote

Canva is pretty good, and (although more advanced) the free version of Affinity is pretty good. Both use LLM tools in places, and I use some in video editing in DaVinci Resolve as well - but I think there's a difference between that and using it to generate creative stuff. It's mainly for things like selecting an object in a frame to mask it out or isolating/repairing audio. They both have generative tools as well, but I have no interest. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 It's definitely going to get to the point where everything's so swamped with AI generated stuff that there's an exhaustion and a movement back to creativity and all that. I've seen it start in various places anyway. I can see AI sticking around in places like data and things like that where people do value time a lot more (as long as they've worked out how to use it and the accuracy etc) but for artistic areas and similar, I do think individuality will hopefully win out.
