I've got fond memories of The Miz vs Jerry Lawler in a Ladder match, but for a career that has spanned almost 20 years having a handful of great matches is pretty poor. The few times I catch WWE now, he is the poster child for 'fuck me, is he still doing the same shit?' whenever his music hits.

I quite liked his WM main event with Cena, especially with that promo package that made him look like one of the biggest stars they had. In fairness, a lot of that match quality was probably down to Cena, but he had to have been able to hold up his side of the bargain to make it any good.

When Miz and Maryse had the Mania match with Cena & Nikki Bella is the last time I can remember Miz doing anything of interest. He is just bland background noise these days/majority of his career. Fair play to him for sticking at it for so long and exceeding expectations and all like. Just not for me.

And in fairness, at least he doesn't think the wrestling world owes him a main event spot, like the even blander Ziggler did.

The package was brilliant but unfortunately it came on the night the title and champion were both shown to be less important than Cena vs Rock and a month before he lost it.

Him vs Morrison on Raw for the title before the Rumble was a tidy affair, I thought.

Can't stand Miz usually, the cybertruck owning idiot. Perfectly capable, but I used to forget his matches almost instantly. But he's a good old type of heel with a modern reason to dislike him, photogenic reality star bro wanker. However that mixed tag at Mania where the crowd decided they loved him was hilarious for how much the Miz seemed to adore that moment, where a crowd were on his side because he'd carried that whole feud going in. He was so incredibly happy and i found it delightful.

A friend once asked me during GSCE Design & Technology class (so I should've been more than old enough to know better) who my favourite was, and I said Gangrel based purely on his circle of fire/drinking "blood" entrance.

Then in the very next half term I got Sky Sports and realised there were few better entrances but tonnes of far more talented and entertaining wrestlers who weren't constantly slumming it on the C-show.

Instead, the one time Regal winning a belt actually annoyed me was when he cut Santino's attempt to beat Honky Tonk Man's then-record with the IC strap off at the knees before he'd even had a chance to get close to breaking it.

Al Snow dressed as the following 

Germany (dressed in Oktoberfest gear/photo of David Hasselhoff), Spain (Head in sombrero, pinata, Matador cape/photo of Ricardo Montalban), France (dressed as renaissance artist with moustache and beret, a poodle, baguette/photo of Pepe le Pew), Transylvania (hat with flapping toy bat attached, vampire cape, box of count chockula/picture of Eddie Munster), Greece (dressed as a Grease T-Bird, Head in a beehive wig/picture of John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John), Italy (mobster with pizza and fedora hat, dead fish/picture of Tony Danza), Hong Kong (kung-fu jacket, fortune cookies, Ming style moustache/picture of Hong Kong Phooey) and England (bowler hat, Head with monocle/picture of William Regal pulling a funny face).

He also had custom music styled to each country and 'What Does Everybody Want?' and 'Head' translated into the countries language. 

I found the gimmick to be a brilliant bit of mid-card comedy and at least made the always borderline irrelevant European Championship worth something. Easily the best and funniest thing Al Snow ever did. Fair play.

When I was first watching WWF in mid-1993 as a kid my favourite wrestler was Marty Jannetty . I think we had a recorded from TV VHS tape of Summerslam 1993 which lost signal during the Marty vs Ludvig Borga match and I told my brother Marty won, because why not? From memory we had a copy of Royal Rumble 1994 with a similar issue where it stopped recording 20 minutes in to the big match and I claimed Sparky Plugg (who I also liked) eliminated Shawn Michaels.

Now Ludvig Borga is a prime example of nobody's favourite wrestler, with the possible exception of the fan with the homemade Borga/Finland flag sign during an episode of Raw.

Marty Jannetty was my first favourite wrestler and I've been a huge fan of him ever since.  The first wrestling match I ever saw was Rockers Vs Power and Glory at Summerslam 90.  It was such a powerful match for me, Shawn got injured before the bell, Marty did the best he could but couldn't overcome the odds.  But then despite the beating he had endured he still used his own body to protect his partner's leg from any further damage.  What a hero.  It didn't take long for the Hulkster to take over as my number 1 guy, and then Bret but Marty was always my number 2 guy.....I used to get so pissed off when he was with the company but they didn't put him on the PPVs.  Even when he rocked up in WCW in 97 or 98 I always hoped he would be on Nitro, which he rarely ever was and think he only ever did 1 WCW PPV as part of a battle royal.

 

Imagine being so invested in the first wrestling match you ever saw!

 

Also, Barbarian......I don't think there is a bigger Barbarian fan in the entire world than me.......bloomin love the guy in every gimmick in every run he's ever had (that I have seen)!
