I've never met anyone who considered Tommy Dreamer to be their favourite wrestler (although I acknowledge for of a moment in time in a regional promotion in Philadelphia he was over with that audience) but on a national level I always felt he looked out of place, limited and shite.

Even at the height of ECW I don't think he would have been any ECW fans favourite. 

I have enjoyed some Dreamer stuff in the past but he's never really been able to get his game to that next level.

I don’t mean to sound snide but have you actually watched 96/97 ECW? They fucking loved him.

To be fair, not much of it. My ECW memories are very 98-00 focused. So happy to be proven wrong.

He was second to Paul London in my eyes though. 2003-2004 is the period I started buying Powerslam and compulsively looking up the newz, and London was the prince of my newly found smarkdom.

For awhile, there, the main storyline in WWE for me became if Paul London would be on screen that week. If Josh Mathews mentioned him being in action tonight at the start of Velocity - Where The Smaller Boys Played - then it was a WrestleMania for yours truly. I was honestly that obsessed for awhile. London appearances became faint glimmers of hope, and I watched from my own private Gorilla position, imagining the road agents in the real one would surely see something this time and give him a proper angle on Smackdown. 

He eventually did have a completely forgotten angle where Billy Kidman turned on him - the latter doing that classic Ruthless Aggression era thing of cutting his hair, losing his cool, putting on mass and going NWA Serious for no reason. They had a PPV match at No Mercy! With a video package! I liked that period of Smackdown. It was like the dark days of 1995 again with all the silly gimmicks and small houses. 

To bring things full circle he eventually ended up teaming with Kendrick then. They have that Armageddon ladder match to their name where Joey Mercury's face got turned into spaghetti bolognese which is probably the most remembered/clipped thing from their run but my fandom eventually lost steam during their million year run as tag champs on Smackdown when it became apparent that it didn't matter if you had the belts if the company didn't care, and the company didn't care.

And then he got fired for having the audacity to smile at Vince just before the limo blowing up angle. What a business.

The Brian Kendrick was my favourite act for a time. Great music, great jacket and some really fun promos and matches. Ezekial Jackson really worked as his bodyguard. It was a shame they put so little effort into him and dropped it so quickly.

I have a very fond memory of Matt Hardy Version One giving an unsigned London a very competitive five minute match on Velocity. It was a goldmine for people who didnt work there getting themselves in the shop window,

It always annoyed me that they went through a spell early in London's run where he was prohibited from doing the London Calling because the Shooting Star Press was "Kidman's move" and he was doing the 450 instead. I thought the execution was different enough. It also struck me as weird that they did it to London, but they didn't impose similar on Eddy when he came in, for using "D'Lo's move."

Especially as Kidman's one was absolute dog shite and London's was a thing of beauty. I think it was probably Kidman pulling the veteran card to stop London doing it. They absolutely hated eachother.

I remember thinking Billy Kidman was so cool when he was in WCW, he seemed to really'have it' (or at least, 13 year old me thought so) but by the end of his career, his biggest achievement was Torrie Wilson and she ended up fncking him off.

 

I discussed Tamina Snuka on this forum the other day and there's my nomination, I have never met anyone who actually liked her, let alone their favorite.

I don't consider the Lo Down the same as the frogsplash. It's also a bit odd using D'Lo as an example of them allowing the same finish when they not only allowed Eddy to keep the frogsplash when RVD had it, but they had them feud over the move, after which neither guy stopped using it, meaning there was no bloody point anyway.
