"Nobody's favourite wrestler" - or are they??

Whoever made that infamous sign where D-Lo's head actually moved side to side deserves a little credit for him coming across as one of the coolest guys ever in WWF at the time.

If Bull Buchanan is nobodies favourite wrestler, at least people remember him unlike Luc 'Sniper' Poirier. A man whose existence and how his WWF run is so completely forgotten even though he was on TV for 9 months fascinates me.

I think it’s time we all came to terms with the fact that John Cena was the Marty Jannetty of this tandem. B2 was robbed of his main event push.

I wonder how differently things might have turned out for him if that terrible accident with Droz had never happened.

I can’t remember what D’Lo was doing now it late 99 but it definitely felt to me like he was on a downswing from his 98 peak. I remember him and Jeff Jarrett trading wins for the Euro and/or IC belts in the summer of 99, then the split with Mark Henry and their match at Unforgiven. But nothing after that. My next memory of him he’s pissing about in a turban with Mosh and Tiger Ali Singh as Lo Down. Which had to be one of the worst mismatched, hodge-podge, ‘we’ve got nothing else for you lads’ factions of all time.

The Droz accident did seem to be the thing that completely killed D’Lo off though yeah. His heart probably wasn’t ever fully in it again, understandably.

Were any of Los Boricuas popular? I never watched the Attitude Era while it happened, so don't know what happened with the whole gang warfare thing at the time. But none of Vega's underlings were recognisable to me, and it doesn't seem like they went on to do anything big later.

D-Lo was really in with Vince Russo too. So he might been off to WCW. He definitely attended WCW Mayhem 1999 backstage where he somehow got into an argument with Mike Graham, where Graham allegedly said 'Hey, at least I didn't cripple anybody', because he was nice like that.

If I remember correctly, Show said in an interview once that the Chokeslam was hard on his knees so that's why he changed to the big punch. Would also explain why he tried a bunch of other finishers out too.

I mean if there was ever a man who could do a standing chokeslam without dropping to his knees, it's him or does he meaning lifting them?

@Carbomb The only one I remember from Savio’s Los Boricuas is the one who was so hairy he looked like he been oiled up and rolled through a barbers. Still couldn’t tell you his name though.

Both, I assume.

The other two were Jose Estrada Jr (who I always remember as the one Edge absolutely knackers with a nasty stinger in his debut) and Jesus (Hayzoos, not Jeezus) who I remember as Ringo Boricua.

Tomko was never anyone's favourite because of his lack of giving a beat, but there were moments in TNA where he seemed to have more promise than people expected of him.

There was a period where Tomko was my favourite guy in TNA, now you mention it. When he turned face and got a bit of a push.

He was fun to play as in No Mercy. That Axe Kick was badass.

What's more mental is that Poirier was winning squash matches on WWF Canadian TV back in 1985.
