On the basis of late-90s wrestling mags being the only things I could see of ECW at the time, I thought Al Snow came across as really cool. The Head thing, growing out dyed hair, and the 'Help Me' thing, learning that he used Breathe as entrance music... yeah, he was HIGH on my list of people I wanted to see. And, to be fair, he was fun for a while in WWE.

Indirectly, Doug was the wrestler I most often paid to see. Whenever I put my money down to see an international company touring - TNA, ROH, Noah - Doug would be there regardless. I'm sure he'd just turn up to venues with his gear and get sent out for a match regardless of whether he'd been contacted or not.

Probably. I think he was one of the (and I think only) graduates from the ECW training school so they gave him a bit of a push based on that. Not sure who the others were - I think maybe Roadkill and Danny Doring were also in the same class.

@Carbomb @LaGoosh Yes, Chetti was Taz's cousin. Worse, Joey Styles acknowledge it on TV. He even got beaten up by a heel at least once in an effort to get under Taz's skin.

When Miz was carting around the US title, the briefcase and A-Ri as his gopher, I thought he was the best baddie they had. Definitely the preference to lift the title over the crap Nexus.

The Miz is somehow both over and underrated.

He's not as shit as a lot of people think he is and does a somewhat decent job with most of what he's given. Fits the lower card gobshite role.

However he's very overrated in that role and it's only because he's been the only person doing that kind of role that his work has stood out - in any other era he probably wouldn't have got this far. His much lauded Talking Smack promo is the most overrated promo possibly ever. He's been wrestling since 2004 and has never had a genuinely exciting match. He's mostly a predictable and uninteresting performer and hasn't really evolved his act in any meaningful way in years.

While I am no fan of The Miz (and totally see your point about him being simultaneously under and overrated), he has had at least a couple of genuinely exciting matches in the past. Not many, but some.  

His IC Title match with Dolph Ziggler from Backlash 2016 stands out and is worth watching.

Mark me down as another in the Doug Williams fan club. I imagine I am in the same club as Air Raid. I've paid to see Doug more than any other wrestler as well.

Thanks to Eurosport showing a rebadged UWFi in the 90's young me would have told you that Gary Albright was the best and he was about to suplex the shit out of anyone in the WWF any day now, I was a dirty little hipster smark without realising it.

Much, much later in the mid 00's I'd say Necrobutcher was genuinely my favourite wrestler in the world not named Kenta Kobashi, I wasn't watching any WWE and 80% of my wrestling watching was through bootlegs of indy stuff and NOAH and I just gravitated to this guy who could barely do a single wrestling move.

Both Alex Wright and Vampiro are up there for my WCW days, especially when the former was dancing to techno I fucking loved him. The latter was just cool as fuck to a greebo like myself, add in a sick finisher and I didn't care if he was actually any good in the ring.
