Not only is it not a big revelation, everyone reasonable is in agreement that Punk should have been terminated from AEW, so I don't see why this is a story at all.

Seems to me that Danielson was chosen as a senior member of the roster in the same job role as Punk. Also, without an obvious conflict of interest. Wasn't at Wembley. Wasn't there for Brawl Out.

The new head of legal would have an understanding of the contractual situation and business of the company.

The outside counsel was probably the one that ran the meeting(s). Simply because you'd hope they have previous experience of this sort of thing and a specialist in employment/labour law with the kind of questions that move things along.

Of course Danielson was involved in the decision, he's Tony's right hand man and I can imagine, I trusted and level headed member of the locker room, why would you not ask for his (or someone from the locker room) to have a say in something that would affect the whole locker room?

The faux outrage to the 'revelation' is completely laughable. Also hilarious that it's come out now, Fightful must be itching for those clicks.

Danielson and the committee did Punk a favour anyway. He wanted out. It was clear from most reports he wanted out. He's back in WWE on what is no doubt a massive contract. Punk won in the end.

It's newz, obviously, but I'd be genuinely so excited for this. Overproduced? Full of snarky promos? Reigns goes over? Don't care.

It's like a really weird dream feud that seemed all but unthinkable. The current man versus the guy who was sort of but not really the man. Both from the same era but only sort of. It's just such an odd dynamic that makes complete sense still. So much you could do here.

All the talk of Rollins vs Punk for the WWE Other World Heavyweight Championship at Mania.. there's still the small matter of Priest running around as the briefcase wanker to be resolved. I think Judgment Day will implode, likely costing Priest the belt when he cashes in, and it will be Balor vs Priest at Mania.

Anyone see Priest actually winning the belt and Rollins vs Punk being with no title involved at Mania?

Does Punk v Rollins need the title, probably not. It would give it more justification for going on later on the card though. If Seth is losing the title he isn't going to want it to be to Punk, and OBP isn't likely to want a secondary world championship anyway.
