What could possibly be more British than painting a fence...no wait, hang on what the fuck are you talking about?

So out of touch it's straight up insanity.

I know. My father in law came over to visit from Poland a few months ago. The wife got him to do it!

When it comes to the whole "illegals are delivering my Chinese with a borrowed Just Eat account" thing... Ok, why do I give a fuck? As long as they don't spit on my mock chicken balls.

And I hate to be that person but who the fuck else wants to do those jobs?! Hardly anyone

To be fair there is an actual wait list right for some of these delivery companies, I've heard of people waiting well over a year for Deliveroo/Just Eat to give them work as there's just so many drivers or an area doesn't have enough demand but it's seemingly more the former. I think because it's such a low barrier to entry job, even if you don't have a bike/moped there are so many rental companies that even give you incentives through certain food places.

Big up Caerphilly. The bookies had Reform 1/4 on yesterday so very happy to wake up to this news. Incredibly proud of our little area.

Come on man you gotta have faith. Just you wait until their second term when they're clinging on to a threadbare majority and confidence is at an all time low. That's when the progressive stuff will really kick in.

This is just utterly shameful.

Using this as a means and a justification is just...yeah I can't think of anything other than shameful. And that's obviously not to downplay racist abuse.

I know we shouldn't be, but I an genuinely shocked by these new policies proposed. As someone who works very closely with refugees it's a bit sickening.

Can't see anything wrong with sending asylum seekers back to their country when it's "safe" Nope, nothing wrong at all.

Who's deeming it safe, Starmer? Mahmood?

"It says here you used to execute gays. Have you changed that policy?"

"N........yes"

"Great, we'll send them back"

They definitely need to do something about the immigration system, the problem is this policy seems to try and stop people going to Reform rather than anything of substance. I think most people agree the actual dealing with asylum seeker applications takes too long and not staffed adequately. But that involves spending money and obviously they don't want to say they are spending more money on asylum seekers even if it saves money in the long run.

I mean, it's all really fucking hypocritical anyway. Complaints about immigration - from a nation whose most sizable political accomplishment was a mass invasion of, murder of, and theft from numerous nations around the world for which they have never faced consequences or paid compensation - ring particularly hollow when you take into account that a lot of said immigration is the decades-old by-blow of said mass invasion (and those of Western allies), and the world order created thereby.

India, prior to the British Empire, was one of the world's richest countries; would the South Asian diaspora here, both immigrant and British, be so large if it weren't for the colonial relations imposed on it?

TL;DR - To hear this lot talking, you'd think it was other empires colonising the poor, innocent British who never travelled anywhere.

The problem is trying to explain any policy that's even slightly more nuanced than "send them back to where they came from" is above the comprehension (or willingness to comprehend) of the vocal minority, so you end with policies like this that attempt to pander to them but ultimately please nobody.  They don't want to hear about legal frameworks and restrictions because Reform purposely make it sound like the current situation is a choice rather than something that is far more difficult to solve.  Reform are basically the underpants gnomes from South Park with the big question mark in between "Vote Reform" and "No More Immigrants".
