Asking this here as the best place: if you go in a cafe or have something off a sandwich van, is it poor show if you can tell where they got their condiments from? Went to a local cafe this morning with my dad and all the sauces and salt and pepper and vinegar were from Aldi, which I know because my dad will buy the cheaper, not-as-good Bramwell's brown sauce while I insist on getting HP sauce.

Didn't help that I'd asked for a bacon and sausage sarnie with brown sauce and they delivered it without the sauce on and left it to you. If I'm at home, great; if I'm out, cater to me.

Morrisons this morning, £7.00.  Fried bread was soaked in oil and uneatable.  Sausage nice, but small.  Everything else ok, but will be sticking to spoons in future.

I've heard that one before.

One of the issues with Wetherspoons’ breakfast is the bacon.
They seem to steam it.
eggs- fine.  Dash of salt n pepper needed but fine.
sausage - deep fried; not ideal but ok.
hash browns - over cooked but not a deal breaker.
beans-

toast- a little anemic

do better with the bacon, it’s the centrepiece

Some other company took over our local Spoons and kept pretty much the same menu whilst making the food worse and increasing the prices. Quite the feat to take the most reliable 5/10 dining experience in Britain and make it shitter.

I'm going to be in the UK next week lads, absolutely can't wait to get some fry-ups in. One problem, I'm going to be in fucking Chelsea for a good part of it. I fear I won't be able to escape the 25 quid beans-in-ramekin breakfasts :(

Go to York Cafe in Battersea (Wandsworth nearest stop) or The Falcon pub in Clapham (come out main high street entrance, turn left its on the corner 50 metres away)
