I'm afraid it's been a while since I've been that way but both those places have served me well over the years, especially The Falcon. Great pub. If you can get to Peckham, maybe you can try that Peliccis that everyone raves about. Quote

Moderators neil Posted February 25, 2025 Moderators Posted February 25, 2025 Not my photo here but reflects exactly what I had at "The Green Cafe" close to Victoria: It wasn't the best, but I give them high marks for covering almost exactly what I want without anything I don't (fried tomato). Think this cost about 12 quid and included a mug of tea and toast. Quote

Paid Members Boycie Posted February 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 25, 2025 I prefer a fried slice to toast personally. Everything on that plate looks great though and I'd happily demolish it. At least there are no bloody hash browns on there. Can't beat a proper fry up. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted March 4, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 4, 2025 The time of the year is approaching and we’ve been going to Dobbies for our shrubs and garden bits ready for the year. Popped in this morning for top soil and some lavender bushes and got a breakfast while we were there. 2 for £14 but you get what you pay for. Tough bacon, floppy bendy toast, and only 1 sausage and 1 rasher. The taste was fine and there was an option of fried or scrambled, but the portion was lacking and the tomato wasn’t the freshest. Paid Members FLips Posted March 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 7, 2025 Both off this week so looked up local places that did a good breakfast. Turns out there’s a coffee house caled Chadwick and Co inside of Barker and Stonehouse that gets rave reviews so we went to the retail park just to get it. £11.95, two free range eggs cooked perfectly, two homemade sausage patties, two nice bits of bacon, homemade beans with a little bit of paprika and more in them, black pudding, fried tomato, fried mushrooms (which we asked not to get) and some decent crispy toast. Comes with an in-house ketchup that’s almost similar to a shakshuka with a hint of spice. Absolutely lovely and worth the price. Being a coffee house it was a smashing latte too. Barker and Stonehouse though, wow. £250 for a plain black little wooden chair, like a grand for a small shelf. It’s not a surprise the coffee house on the top floor was packed but nobody was shopping for furniture. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted March 7, 2025 Members Posted March 7, 2025 That looks great and the best bit looks the brew. A lovely colour. Quote
The King of Old School Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 The beans look dry as hell, where is the sauce?! Sausage patties look interesting though, and the eggs look belting. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted March 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted March 7, 2025 Yeah, the beans are probably the sore point for me as well but otherwise that looks great. Quote
