Local cafe was doing an American special today so I went for it instead of my usual sausage and fried egg sambo pay day treat. The hash browns were the best thing on the plate.

Thought I'd stick this in here. You knew that posh place would have a Beans Ramekin before the plate even came out. 

Really enjoy this guys channel. His obvious passion bleeds through into his videos. He's got the best YouTube Dog, too.

I got a weird vibe from that bloke and looking at his channel he would be what I would describe as "poverty porn YouTubers". The types who travel to different places and film the worst areas with the most depravation they can, just to stick up a YouTube video and say look at this shit hole for views.

These are three off his videos in a row with their titles and descriptions "Boarded Up Leeds - This is how you kill a city. Empty Newcastle - How is This place still Open and Shattered Sheffield - Have We Lost Sheffield."

 

It's just loads of "Britain has gone to shit" stuff. TBH If he has spent his last few weeks sticking flags on lamp posts and marching with Tommy, it wouldn't particularly suprise me.

I watched one (I genuinely can't remember who's channel it was, but he was with that bald lad with the neck tattoo who goes around pubs. What a great description!)

Anyway, they visited some pubs in East London (most of which I've been in) and were just amazed that the people in there were mostly nice and friendly. Well yeah. Unless you go in and start acting the bollocks in a pub, most people will just leave you alone as they're after a quiet drink themselves. 

It properly wound me up.

Did you watch anything? I quite enjoy his absolute enthusiasm for anything Industrial, Chimneys and Dry stone walling, but have at it. I don't think he's been confirmed as a Reform nut just yet.

Out of his viewers you are probably in the minority then. As the couple of videos he has on those subjects have barely any views. 

The rest of channels videos which have the 100k plus views is travelling to places to go "look at this shithole".

I have watched a few and I apologize if this seems a personal attack on you but I'm just a bit funny about these guys as I actually have to train staff in security on how to deal with Youtubers and streamers nowadays. As nuts as that may seem. Some like to go to the roughest areas and try and cause a fuss for views. Things like filming homeless people who don't want to be filmed. Or we had a Youtube "Auditor" who travelled from Manchester to film people going into a center for women escaping domestic abuse. Then kicked off with staff for what he was doing.

 

Whilst not as bad, the Youtube poverty porn lot are just exploiting poor people and areas for views. And that guy you linked to funnily enough has a video filmed where I live and work. Which doesn't surprise me. Loads choose Blackpool. It's a pretty easy giveaway what they are actually upto. It's his first video too.

Not heard of this guy or seen any of his videos but gave this a watch and thought it was decent. Didn’t come across as poverty porn or reform propaganda, just a guy giving some social commentary on the decline of greasy spoon cafes. 
 

I grew up in a poor(ish) working class family where burger vans in laybys and greasy spoon cafes were a right treat for us.
 

I don’t go in greasy spoons much these days due to trying to eat a bit healthier but I’ve just moved to a new part of Bristol and there a few near me so might have to venture out at the weekend.

Just searched for this as like you I figured I’d drunk in most of these pubs and yeah, a very frustrating watch. They seemed intent to pick on the roughest looking people and hope they’d say something controversial and seemed quite put out when they didn’t get the content they hoped for. 

 

The big build up to the Blind Beggars at just after opening time seemed particularly desperate. As if a Kray shooting 60 years ago means a bloke supping his bitter at midday on a Tuesday fancies a ruck with every tourist who walks in.

 

Anyway, fuck ramekins.
