d-d-d-dAz Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 Why does everything beneath the eggs look like it's in 8-bit? I mean, if you are going to have beans they need to be wetter than that. And that's me talking. Admittedly if I have beans, I'm not a huge fan but IF, they should be in (and remain in) a ramekin. That little salsa plop on there would be straight off the plate. I want regular digit shaped sausages, bacon, eggs, black pudding, toast and a bit of fried tomato. I'll take beans on the odd occasion, provided they're in a quarantine ramekin. Very occasionally I'll dip the tip of a sausage into some brown sauce from someone else's plate. But only if I'm feeling wild. Quote

This is going deep down sauce boulevard, but part of the reason I think I'm anti sauce is (and again this doesn't cover in-context wet food, like curry or stews or wet food... it's strictly added wet) when I used to have sauce on stuff when I was kid, I'd do a line of ketchup or whatever on a sausage... then the silly cunt would roll over and I'd get ketchup on the peas or something and it's just like... this is unregulated chaos. It's not for me. Ramekins are a security guarantee. Quote
deathrey Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 @SuperBacon that Ryvita line legit made me laugh out loud I'm with @d-d-d-dAz on the bean juice, that shit gets everywhere, quarantine it. Though if I have to have beans, the ones in @FLipsplate are actually ok for me, I don't mind beans on the drier side. Less juice the better. Quote

Yeah the juice is the worst part of the beans for me, also a fan of beans on the stodgier side. Don't mind a bit more juice if it's on toast because there needs to be some moisture there, but for a breakfast or otherwise, gimme the dry stuff. Quote

wordsfromlee Posted March 7, 2025 Posted March 7, 2025 I like a thicker bean. "School beans" as we call them in our house. Quote
Moderators neil Posted March 7, 2025 Moderators Posted March 7, 2025 "House made" ketchup is never a good thing and just always seems off. Just put a bottle of Heinz on the table and everyone is happy. Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted April 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 5, 2025 Our last ever Sainsbury’s Breakfast. Been a tradition for years that when we are off, I take my daughter for breakfast, and this has been our main place. Hey are shutting all the cafe’s down, this one going on April 11th, so the end of an era. Egg looks over cooked, but was perfect when burst. Sausage was lovely and they swapped beans for mushrooms. I’ll miss it. Quote
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted April 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 5, 2025 That egg is going to need to be very fookin runny to lube that lot up (and sorry for your loss). Quote

Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted May 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 2, 2025 (edited) The food looks nice but for me Clive the placement of the beans ramekin in the centre of the plate gives the beans an undue prominence they don't deserve. The centre of the plate should be for the best part of the breakfast, and that is never the beans. Edited May 2, 2025 by Lion_of_the_Midlands Pierre Njanka-Beyaka Quote
