I think to be the best sequel you have to at least be better than than the original, which neither Home Alone 2 or Terminator 2 are. The real answer is Rocky 3.

And Gremlins 2 is much better than Home Alone 2.

Presumably this is why modern porn parodies are just called "[insert title here] a porn parody"

It’s more to do with Google search results. And Godfather 2 is the best sequel and Rocky 4 is the best Rocky.

And the fact the movie is fucking great.

If you just push the 'ending the Cold War' stuff to one side and accept that the acting is a bit dodgy (especially compared to the brilliant acting on the first movie), it's the most enjoyable Rocky movie.

This "Home Alone 2" you're all referring to is one of those hypothetical entries like Red Dwarf series nine, right? I've scoured every list written in the last five years and can't find any record of it.

It is a hell of a spectacle. Cracking piece of cinema. Vince DiCola at the height of his powers as well, between this and Transformers The Movie.

Aliens and Alien? I know they're two completely different movies tonally, but it's often cited in the sequels debate.

It's been years since I watched them properly but isn't Mad Max 2 generally regarded as the better all round product of to the first 2 films, before Tina Turner and baby bouncers fucked it all up?

The answer is Sister Act II: Back in The Habit.

Miles better than the first. Lauryn Hill kicking ass and showing that, if she wanted, she could be an amazing actor but decided against it and started The Fugees instead. The final scene of them performing Joyful, Joyful is something I still get up on YouTube and I watch it every time I see it on TV which seems to be all the time.
