Another trigger warning for you JB. I'm at number 5 and the house opposite is 2 miles away.

I always dislike those people who try and use a name for thier house lumped on before the official number for no other reason than to be quirky. By unofficially adding "The Dell" before 6 morning wood road or whatever they do nothing but make people waste time writing in a vein attempt to add fun or individualism into something that ultimately requires uniformity to run efficiently. Mr_Danger
@Tommy! and @johnnyboy would make fine Posties. Especially the pointless name on a numbered address. If your mail/parcel comes to that address unnumbered there’s a good chance it’s getting killed off out of spite by at least half the people in my office. Paid Members gmoney Posted December 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted December 15, 2020 I've often thought that you must be a total cunt to have a name for your house instead of a number. Glad to hear posties treat their mail with disrespect.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted December 15, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted December 15, 2020 The one that gets me is when they name a house in a terrace something like "The Old Rectory" or "The Cottage". Who's that meant to be for, considering it's obvious to every fucking person that sees it that it isn't an old rectory or cottage?

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted December 16, 2020 Moderators Share Posted December 16, 2020 (edited) So it's a thing you love about British culture, but you don't do it and you roll your eyes at it? Sure. That makes sense. Edited December 16, 2020 by Chest Rockwell

King Coconut
There are areas in Germany that don't use letters in their house numbering. So houses 2a and 2b would be 2-1 and 2-2. There's some sick fuckers out there.
