A good director knows how to get the most out of their talent. If they wanted JR to sound inspired and enthusiastic, then a bag of puppies and a hammer wouldn't have taken much out of the budget.

It’s been met with a lot of backlash on social media, despite it being known for at least a year that he was going to be in the game.

One thing that’s particularly got people’s gander up seems to be Owen taking a call and TK saying “hope that you’re well”

Maybe they've not asked Lance Storm if they can put Calgary. Alberta. Canada.

Which I don’t get since pretty much every wrestling game featuring legends can have a similar set up. But I guess it wasn’t tribal before.

I try not to play as dead wrestlers as much as I can, I get why you would, just isn't for me. I find it very uncomfortable, but yeah, the people moaning about this is a bit rich. Dead wrestlers in games is extremely common.

My biggest worry for this game is they are going for the nostalgia of playing the n64 with your mates, it looks like it could be fun playing it on day one with your mates but I'm married with kids-I will be playing single player on day one and probably 99% of the time.

I'm excited for it but the more and more I see the more and more it looks like a 'rent for a weekend' game, as we used to say.

You're overestimating how many friends some of us had in the 90s, @theringmaster...

I reckon an online multiplayer equivalent of No Mercy sounds like a lot of fun, to be honest. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Not having shared creations seems bonkers really. Fire Pro had that, and I sort of assumed the low res, fairly basic wrestlers were a way of making them quicker to download. 

Still, people seem very hyped on this game. I saw someone earlier talking about the groundbreaking features which included the mini games and the ability to customise wrestlers. Others have convinced themselves that they'll add a stadium stampede match later in their version of a battle pass. That'll at least tide them over to get enough copies into fans hands. 

And to be fair it does look like a fun nonsense game to play with friends. I'm not convinced it has much depth as a single player game and I think that might hurt them when it comes to the DLC market post game.
