It was significantly worse than anything on offer today. I agree, but I do remember reading on here and other places that AEW was close to WCW 2000. But yes, WCW 2000 was an absolute mess. Quote

The Dart Posted March 10 Posted March 10 41 minutes ago, Supremo said: Seth Rollins, who we’re now supposed to accept as a top babyface, concocted a, “genius plan,” to run away from Austin Theory and Logan Paul. He seemingly hired about a dozen lads to dress up in hoodies and balaclavas, but rather than instruct them to outnumber and beat the living fuck out of these two scrubs, he got them to run around like idiots to camouflage him, allowing him to escape. It's even sillier how you've explained it than what I had seen it as. Which was that by there being 12 other men dressed like him Paul & Theory wouldn't know which one was the real Seth Rollins so wouldn't know which one to beat up, so left them all alone, because if they attacked one of them, the others would join in and outnumber them. But Seth can just have his 12 mates there - them being dressed the same as him makes zero difference. Then they all just left the ring anyway and ran off, so they could have just done that without needing to switch around like they did. It reeks of thinking something's clever, the same as his fake injury bollocks last year, but not taking the 5 minutes required to apply some logic to it. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted March 10 Paid Members Posted March 10 (edited) I hope one of them is Wardlow. Seems like the sort of scheme he’d sign up for. Also devil masks under the hoodies would make this super cool. Deffo add devil masks. Also they’re overdoing the “You are cursed” thing in true WWE style buuuut I did like the house lights coming back on before Danhausen could complete his lights out disappearance. I know it's repetitive but it is the kinda thing WWE crowds tend to get on board with, so I can't really blame them for going with it. Everything else humour-wise is very Danhausen, so he's thankfully not got a complete overhaul or anything. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted March 10 Paid Members Posted March 10 Oh yeah it works for the majority of the audience too, just hammering the catchphrases that hard every promo is not to my taste. I’m pleased he’s getting over, and my overexposure threshold is definitely not in step with the wider WWE crowd. Yeet. Quote

They've got a warehouse full of black hoodies. You've got to remember they're asking ChatGPT to think of ways to use them. 58 minutes ago, sukhy said: I agree, but I do remember reading on here and other places that AEW was close to WCW 2000. AEW was closest to latter day WCW a few years ago when they had issues with talent, struggling arena business, some green workers and very nondescript second and third TV shows. Not particularly close but as close as they've been. 16 minutes ago, JLM said: Also they’re overdoing the “You are cursed” thing in true WWE style buuuut I did like the house lights coming back on before Danhausen could complete his lights out disappearance. Saw a screenshot this morning where he had "CURSED" written twice in his name graphic. It's absolutely like them to hammer you round the head with it. Hopefully they calm it down because he's the sort of act made for popping up for them and killing time. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I'm just waiting for Truthausen with the inevitable "What's up?" "YOU'RE CURSED!" remix. Quote
poetofthedeed Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Jimmy uso has quietly been very solid for a while now, but he was really good in the punk segment, I'd like to see him get a program where he's the main character. Quote
NeverYield Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Going to continue to watch the highlights and YT clips of the show. I did put it on this morning before work, but it was too early for that absolute bullshit charade with all them masked bods cantering around the ring 🙃 Quote
Merzbow Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) Remember when AEW did something just as stupid and it had them completely reset everything? Obviously WWE won't, they probably think it was great. Edited March 10 by Merzbow Quote

I always found him a better promo than Jey. I’m actually pretty certain he done the “yeet” stuff first but it somehow got Jey over, could be a complete misremember though. His look is pretty shite though and that’s what probably held him back (queue the inevitable twin joke). Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Underrated as he may be (he's not), I did think watching him chin the World Champion weeks out from THE BIGGEST WRESTLEMANIA DREAM MATCH MAIN EVENT IN HISTORY HONESTLY; 'Fucking hell, imagine if Headbanger Mosh had chinned Austin before Wrestlemania 17.'
